    In the EU, social media platforms are accountable for their addictive designs.

    Our investigation of Instagram and Facebook shows Meta has not adequately assessed the risks of features such as infinite scroll, auto-play, push notifications, and recommender systems.

    Meta can now exercise its right to defence before these preliminary findings are confirmed.
