@davidrevoy I love it! :BlobhajHeart:
@NatureMC @davidrevoy And especially her look in panel No. 2 - so lovely!
@farbenstau @NatureMC Thank you!
@davidrevoy @wikipedia FTW!
@hacknorris @wikipedia I agree :) Btw, I wonder what parody name (and metaphor) in a fantasy setting I could give to Wikipedia... I'm open to ideas!
@davidrevoy maybe magicpedia?
@davidrevoy Wikiwizardry
@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia Ookpedia would add a Discworld reference 😁
Witchipedia
Witch-Imp-edia
It is a book with a lot of loose papers in it. Everyone can add a paper. Every day at the same time all bookkeeping witches say a spell at the same time. This spell synchronizes all contents in all the witchipedia books.
Everyone who has a book is fighting off the red parrots, and in any time off they check all new entries and all changed entries in a coordinated process to filter out the slop. To coordinate they ...
Pickyweedia
@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia Scrollwheel; it’s a huge scroll that anyone can add to, and it gets un/rolled to the point you want with the help of a captive demon running on an attached treadmill (doomscrolling, anyone?).
Could be that this for every different page instead of the whole thing, so you can set up a joke where some demons are sleepy and slothful and some demons are incredibly overworked from dealing with edit wars.
@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia
The cave where everyone's speach gets recorded in echo and can get heard again.
Sorry I got carried away.
@davidrevoy Maybe Wiccapedia, or WiccaMedia. Or WikiGrimoire, WickedGrimoire, but it starts drifting into something unrecognizable.
The Collective? The Swarm? The Hive?
"Let's ask the hive."
It should consist of many entities. Ants, fairies, bodiless hands, swifts, mushrooms, a castle full of weird people – could be anything.
And they should be constantly bickering among themselves while also being very thorough, helpful and intelligent – and super smug about it! :D
@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia
Witchipedia!
@davidrevoy
The Book of All Knowledge?
@hacknorris @wikipedia
@davidrevoy
WWTPD - What Would Terry Pratchett do?
@hacknorris @wikipedia
@rotherstuebs @hacknorris @wikipedia Exactly, that's a question I often ask myself while writing my scenarios. The GOAT.
@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia Grimoire of Grimoires, duh. Grimoires reference grimoire, maybe.
@davidrevoy I love this so much. Pepper and her obsession with Ring of Fire.
@darkpixel Thank you!
But this one is another character than Pepper from Pepper&Carrot, it's "Cepper", a gothic sorceress (I know, they sort of look alike, the fault of my limited art style , hehe, so no problem for mixing them!).
@davidrevoy I say we bring back Web Rings.
@jordan 👏 Bravo! Good one.
(also, good idea. I never really was a user of them, but I really liked the "other blog recommended" on the old blogs; sometime, you could browse deep in the web jumping from blog to blog this way)
@davidrevoy @jordan We'll need a Web Ring of Fire spell.
@jordan @davidrevoy some people are doing that! https://human-made.site/
@davidrevoy To be honest, I've become a subject to this :P
Sometimes when I search up a question in a search engine it gives me results for the totally wrong question and and when I try to search up problems I'm having with Blender I mostly get old posts which are irrelevant to the latest version of Blender soooo yeeeah sometimes I just have to use AI to get what I want because there aren't any good search engines out there that I know of. It sucks that I have to do that but it's kinda necessary. I still prioritise search engine use though because search engines aren't completely borked.
@bluestaggo I understand, and I collect the same feedback around me; that's why I wrote this one.
And also, I do a story arc right now where Cepper the gothic sorceress don't have a Avian Intelligence Parrot anymore (since the last episode) and now, I'm a bit exploring "her VS the system" with the evolution that are all here to push users to use AI.
@davidrevoy Magic underwear :)
@davidrevoy I guess Saffron found a couple of those tomes as well.
@ygor 🤣 haha, nice. Or she wrote some of them 🔥
@davidrevoy For whatever reason, "Spicy Onion Ring Recipes" as a connection is the funniest of the bunch for me. 10/10, no notes, kudos. Just wait until she goes looking for a book itself, only to find the local copy was mulched to feed the algorithms. (Also, sorry that you have to keep doing the paint thing to prove that you're not an AI, yeesh.)
I stopped using Google years ago, and I did not replace it with Bing either. Nor did I trust DuckDuckGo since it is in America.

@davidrevoy
yeah, the ol, mad(ison) ave. methods,
@davidrevoy ok im quite tempted to call my search engine "Gooblin" now
@davidrevoy I hate this timeline...
@NullTheFool Same... 🤝
@davidrevoy so good!💙💯
@davidrevoy
Just as well Wotan didn't have that problem at the end of "Die Walküre", eh?
@condret You are right. It's a caricature here, but also when everything went full AI it went downhill : summary, AI "for you" recommendation based on your profiling, more slop entries unfiltered, etc...
@davidrevoy *here kid, catch*
@davidrevoy don't know if it was a conscious choice, but I like the book title about fire-proof panties: it suggests that the machine knows personal details about the user (that she's likely to wear panties and not boxers) and pushes the ad on her even when the request had nothing to do with it.
@isagalaev Thank you! Yes, a conscious choice; the "Top 5 Best Engagement Rings (For you)" is also a direct recommendation. ☺️
I had a lot of fun writing this part. To bad I had to limit to 6 results; I wrote probably more than 10 on my first draft.
@davidrevoy imagine an AD with that many pages... I think the biggest books are ADs 😆
@Konqi Haha, true. Unconscious decision here; maybe the books have a secret box inside them for all the cookies of partners.
...and it makes me think now of this old episode https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/miniFantasyTheater/016.html :yay: Everything start to be connected!
@davidrevoy I like the cookie with the eye patch 😆
Is https://www.davidrevoy.com/article1099/keeper-of-forbidden-knowledge playing in the same universe?
@davidrevoy Love your comics!
@PhillyCodeHound :blobcatheart: Thank you!
@davidrevoy may i recommend https://noai.duckduckgo.com ;)
@simondev Nice. Thanks for the link. I had the classic DDG with AI turned off (+ublock origin and a AI blocklist), I'll check if this variant is better.
@davidrevoy uhm I guess it's the same. But it is useful if you are using a public computer and want an address that has all ai turned off by default
@davidrevoy @simondev can ublock remove search results that are slop? if so, can you share the list?
@xarvos @simondev I'm not sure the ublock origin really filters the results, but I use this list: https://github.com/laylavish/uBlockOrigin-HUGE-AI-Blocklist/tree/main
@davidrevoy @xarvos thanks!!! i didn't know
@davidrevoy @simondev Oh! If you haven't already, you should add uBlacklist. If you have an AI blocklist, uBlock Origin will stop you from being able to click the links, but uBlacklist will stop them from showing up in the search results at all.
@davidrevoy no vidéo in the first results ? ^^"
@martouf I forgot the video! You are right.
