@Strandjunker i think we'd make more progress if ppl stopped campaigning for healthcare and started campaigning against medical bankruptcy. I think Americans prefer being against a thing rather than be for the opposite thing.
@mattg This right here.
@Strandjunker
🇲🇽 rolling out national healthcare as we speak
🇺🇸 hasn’t come clean which things it wants to make great again
@AccordionBruce @Strandjunker Stop being selfish! The USA Army need more big bombs to kill children in poor countries and the pedo-bilionaires need new yatchs. 😉
@Strandjunker I've seen this first hand. Medial companies have no interest in the individual, but they have full vested interest in their investors.
@Strandjunker I get the point, USA is really far way from those countries. Unfortunately reality is a little bit more complicated. You can actually go bankrupt in countries with NHS . Specially if you have an emergency and face long surgical waiting lists or a rare condition that require treatments not covered by the system.
@rcosta @Strandjunker Yeah, unfortunately you can absolutely go bankrupt in EU states with public healthcare. You'll still get basic healthcare when you're broke but often, not everything is covered. For instance, in Spain, dentist visits are not covered by public healthcare.
We need to stop drinking the ‘America is the greatest country in the world’ Kool-Aid and start working to make it so.
Its a good reminder and something to be proud of. 🇨🇦
@Strandjunker As an American, even now in my 60s, I live in fear of this for me and my family. Almost all of my savings is in anticipation of this possible outcome, knowing it could still bankrupt me if we all go down at the same time (since insurance has so many holes on it). That’s the evil of our system. To everyone else in the industrialized world, look at us, & whatever else you do never, ever imitate our healthcare system.
@archivescribe @Strandjunker This is a good addition: the stress of the potential affects even more US people
And that with the thought in mind that it already went into the right direction once under Obama.
Obviously the Republican shareholders weren't happy.
@Strandjunker for some people in red hats, the lesson is that the USA is in first place
@Strandjunker Canada, Australia and the UK have a significant number of medical bankruptcies: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/medical-bankruptcies-by-country 🙁
The less materialistic you are, the less control capitalism has over you..
@Strandjunker Now that I live in Canada I very much doubt the "illness related work loss" is also 0, but that is more to do with funding cuts and not having enough medical staff than the reason you're alluding to the States having so many more.
@Strandjunker
Number of countries that spend billions upon billions on their MILITARY? ZERO
In the future, whenever the GOP asks for MORE MONEY for the military (really for the companies PORK and lobbiests) say,
Remember back in 2026? POSPOTUS invaded everywhere, burned thru our weapons, constantly proving just how stupid and unqualified the entire government of the USA was at that time? Who Attacked us? It was their chance! NOBODY
Now how about some #healthcare ?!!?
People over #war
@Crystal_Fish_Caves @Strandjunker Only one war to fight in the US now: the class war. l
@LukefromDC @Crystal_Fish_Caves @Strandjunker ...and not only in the US...
🇺🇸 has a Mad Dictator.
@Strandjunker I doubt this is accurate. Plenty of poverty among disabled people in other countries too, but, yes, USA might be a bit worse in this regard.
@CosmicCactus @Strandjunker Poverty is not the same as bankruptcy and a bit worse is the understatement of the century 😅

@Strandjunker Yup and the the lesson learned by certain UK politicians and the insurance industry is, 'we must emulate the USA '. There's money to be made, or more accurately, money to be transferred from the sick to us.
@Strandjunker you definitely need a system of universal healthcare.
