@Natasha_Jay that’s so cool!
@Natasha_Jay This has no business being so funny!
@Natasha_Jay I mean,
@pixelworship @Natasha_Jay This is literally what my middle child just sent back when I shared this link. The kids are alright.
@pixelworship @Natasha_Jay I managed to make it to my third drawing before I did this...🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Natasha_Jay wow, this is delightful!
@Natasha_Jay I broke it with a line. Spinny spinny no point of equilibrium
@cascheranno
Your line must have been much better than mine. Mine was wobbly so it found equilibrium fairly quickly.
@Natasha_Jay
@roytoo @Natasha_Jay (haven’t ever uploaded video… hope this works)
@cascheranno
Oh, that's longer and thicker than any I've had the same effect with.
But yes, similar
@roytoo
@Natasha_Jay @roytoo yup; it appears the applet just closes any perimeter drawn, so the odd thick spots are just our sloppy unstraight spots on a single line. AKA, dumb luck.
@cascheranno @Natasha_Jay
Great that you got a video, your line was definitely much straighter than the one I drew.
@cascheranno Interesting approximation.
@roytoo
@cascheranno
A medium sized line drawn fast can spin and never float. Takes a few attempts, but yes...
@Natasha_Jay @roytoo this one seems to put most mass at points inward of ends, leading to a ctr calculated left, then right, etc. It was off-the-cuff, but funny.
The resultant mass done when drawing a 5-line star also is interesting: a spike well-inside a broad murderous shelf which either is just above or just below waterline. YMMV.
The ‘but this doesn’t reflect 3d’ part is beginning to tickle my brain.
@Natasha_Jay
This is still around? Wow, blast from the past! Thanks for sharing it again 😀
Beside the historics of the former Arpa Net, I love it, too 😄😍
Actually pretty smart 🙃🙂
@Natasha_Jay I remember this one! So much fun.
❤️💙💜🤎🤍💚💛🧡
@Natasha_Jay I broke it! This one won't stop moving!
@koushiniku
That kind of length and thin, or a line, seems to give the model issues and spinning / flipping without settling
@Natasha_Jay @koushiniku even better: make a star (*) and watch it fly all over the place uncontrolably :blobcat:
@Natasha_Jay oh that’s so fun! I could spend a long time dithering about with this 😆
@Natasha_Jay @Girgias I reckon there's a lot more we could do for research into how ice floats. This tool is just the tip of the iceberg...
@Natasha_Jay Codeberg iceberg.
@lila_bliblu @Natasha_Jay @afewbugs catberg in water anomaly
@Natasha_Jay I didn't get it and hope the alt text would help me... this was useless... -_-'
Oooh yes, blast from the past, we need this!
And we need to draw horses and see them run, too 🧡
And pop bubble plastic, and rake sand in zen gardens 🧡
@pascaline @Natasha_Jay the good news is: the kids these days are obsessed with "asmr" :)
@Natasha_Jay so calming
@Natasha_Jay This is called ”The Depressed Pac-Man”.
@Natasha_Jay i wonder if it will ever stabilize, it's oscillating now for more than 5 minutes.
@adorfer
I don't think it does in some cases, it should dampen down but ...
@Natasha_Jay broke it already
@Natasha_Jay There needs to be a 3D version of this!
I... cldnt help myself.
@Natasha_Jay his ears are large for an excellent reason
@Natasha_Jay Tried to make a happy face, came out a little scary.
@Natasha_Jay it looks like a narwhal whale, submarine, or an iceberg flipping a bird
definitely needs a titanic mod
