Oct 5, 2026, 4:38 PM@tojiro I am struggling to believe this is a real company, even after looking them up and checking out their website and seeing they have a linkedin profile and
just
ugh
oscarfalconoscarfalcon@mastodon.socialOct 5, 2026, 4:47 PMYeah: Fuck. This!
Oct 5, 2026, 4:58 PM@tojiro I wasn't expecting the future to have so much environmental storytelling

AJ Collinstortuguita@sfba.socialOct 5, 2026, 5:29 PM@tojiro it is inflammatory to get people to share it

Am I missing something?
How are "deployed" users (no matter how many) going the pay for anything?
Pete Alex Harris🦡🕸️🌲/∞🪐∫petealexharris@mastodon.scotOct 5, 2026, 6:43 PM@HendrikPfaff @tojiro
Of course they won't. In fact, quite the reverse. The message seems to be "Expect an indiscriminate billion-connection DDoS with no human intent behind it. Good luck finding and serving paying customers in the middle of that."
Oct 5, 2026, 6:36 PM@tojiro well, airport ads are… special. And no, there is no non-dystopian way :blobcatgiggle:
muddle 🥣muddle@infosec.exchangeOct 5, 2026, 6:37 PM@tojiro I joked a few days ago about setting up a company called "Frontier Continuity" or #Frontinuity for short. Irony is dead. This combines (more or less) exactly the same elements... a new frontier to exploit, and continuity for those rich enough to be able to defend against the inevitable mass immiseration that this will cause.
Oct 5, 2026, 6:38 PM@tojiro I can no longer tell parody from reality.
Cockroach labs? Is that a real company?
Deployed users? What the hell are those? Is this some TESCREAL shit?
Is this an anti-AI ad, or a pro-AI ad? I have no idea.
David Nashdpnash@c.imOct 5, 2026, 7:30 PM> Deployed users? What the hell are those?
“AI” agents. Chatbots with delusions of grandeur and the ability to “talk” to tools as well as humans.

Or maybe it’s actual cockroaches hammering some keyboard for food. The statistical long-term outcome probably converges to the same point, anyways... :blobfoxsipowo:

@dpnash
Cockroach Labs...
Deploying Cockroaches since 2026, soon encroaching a server near you 🦗🦗🦗

Dianealienghic@timeloop.cafeOct 5, 2026, 8:01 PMThey have dreams that AI agents will provide them a new untapped market to exploit.
