    @MariahL @GamingWithEars There was a time when I would have agreed with it. But I've worked with enough blind people who went blind later or very much later, in life that I've given up that stance. It's kind of sad to me, but like if some one can't get VoiceOver enough to copy something from an app, make a new Email, paste that thing into the message body, and send it, then Shortcuts or AI it is. I just try to make sure people know the tradeoffs, but if that's what they want, then it's their life and I'm not going to try to push them towards going the long way. Honestly I'm just glad shorter ways exist now.

    In short, I ain't trying to gatekeep. I may not be perfect at it yet, but it's something I've been working on.

    @GamingWithEars I actually just read the post in question and I am shaking my head. Some Blind people with no other disabilities seem to forget that there are people, probably the majority of blind people, who at least will have at some point another disability in their life. All in one apps like these are wonderful for elders that are just getting used to technology, people with traumatic brain injuries or ADHD, who may struggle to use a bunch of different apps, for people like myself who are deafblind, who need a very clean interface to maximize our 20 cells of braille. I am a business owner and a professional in my field, and I still choose to use a braille notetaker for a whole host of reasons and the amount of judgment and shit I get from again otherwise able-bodied blind people for this choice is absolutely bat shit insane. I cannot believe that this stuff is so important that we need to waste time berating strangers on the Internet for their methods of accessing information. We are all different and we all need different things and I really wish that we could just respect that and each choose what works for us.

    @MariahL @GamingWithEars And I find it kind of fascinating why this is living rent free in the original posters head. Like why does it upset them so much that they needed to write a rant where they insult whole groups of people so that they can feel better about themselves honestly, the post says a lot more about the person who wrote it then it does about anyone who uses these apps.

    @pawpower yeah, as long as people get the things done that they need to, who cares how they get there. the point is they accomplish the tasks they need to! what interface you use, what screen reader you use or don't use is super unimportant. @GamingWithEars
