Anyway you can tell they were XKCD readers instead of Dilbert readers because the random number from Dilbert was "9"

Personally, I am a fan of Warp Records from the 90s, so my favorite random number is "orange"
The Orange 4theorangetheme@en.osm.townOct 21, 2026, 12:03 AM@mcc Orange mentioned!

⁂ Fish Id Wardrobefishidwardrobe@mastodon.me.ukOct 21, 2026, 2:53 AM@mcc certainly a difficult number to guess
Stumpy The MuttStumpyTheMutt@social.linux.pizzaOct 21, 2026, 12:24 AM@mcc my usual non-secure "random" number is the store ID of a 7-11 I worked for in the 1980's. The store is long gone, but somehow I still remember the ID.
Bernie Spookily Does ItBernieDoesIt@mstdn.socialOct 21, 2026, 11:53 PM@mcc Dilbert readers do not have the skills to create things, so you don't have to get all the way to the 9 to know.
Andrewlisagui@mastodon.socialOct 21, 2026, 12:15 AM@mcc 😂

MUGISHA PHOCIT2003MugishaPhocit@mastodon.socialOct 21, 2026, 3:58 AM@mcc How is this helpful?
I am asking because I lack the knowledge of random 4- Oct 21, 2026, 4:11 AM
@2003MugishaPhocit it's a joke, kind of—
Imagine this company had been given an account on the most important computer on the Internet and they set their password to "4". Just 4

Oct 21, 2026, 8:19 AM@mcc But we thought the mistake would be someone using "correct horse battery staple" for their password
Oct 21, 2026, 11:56 AMI had to do much web searching to find out what all these memes about 4 were referring to.
(The real life event I mean, I know the comic)
Tobias 🌒🌕🌘catdad@ohai.socialOct 21, 2026, 5:48 PM@mcc I usually use eleventy-threeve.
Pi also works, as it contains any and every random number conceivable, including itself.
Oct 21, 2026, 6:12 PM@mcc
I’m a bit of a random number generator myself, for example “4”
