today I spent 3 hours at the dentist having a crown put on a molar, and the anesthetic wore off four times mid-procedure. Despite this, your API is the most annoying thing I've had to deal with in the last 24 hours.

@foone I believe red hair is recessive so it's not that you didn't inherit enough red hair genes, but that you inherited too many non-red-hair genes. :thounking:
@foone Trans women have a curiously high prevelence of EDS, which -also- has a characteristic resistance to certain anesthetics used by dentists. Lidocaine+Epinephrine is almost entirely useless on me and I've developed a phobia of dentists from their refusal to believe me and give me Bupivacaine.

Thankfully my current dentist believes me and gives me Bupivaccaine/Marcaine, but for years every time I'd be like "hey, doc, I am resistant to your painkillers, you'll have to give me more" and they're like "pfft, yeah right, okay sure", give me the normal amount, and and drill into me as I scream and WHOOPS we gotta delay further while we wait for another dose of painkillers to kick in. YOU COULD HAVE JUST LISTENED TO ME
@foone The main Trauma Event™ occurred when I was a kid when a dentist, having unloaded about 6 doses of lidocaine into me with me still feeling the probe pokes, decided to just put a knee on my lap and start working.
Now I have a feral animal response to dental work such that for a bit I was getting my cleanings done at a hospital while they gave me ketamine like a tiger at the zoo.

My sister threatened to bite a dentist who was trying to do that, and the dentist responded by not continuing... until she came back on valium, to calm her down. Not different painkillers, sedatives!
@foone I feel your pain, my grandfather's legacy to me is the same.
@foone I have inherited similarly, and have a similar situation with my dentist.
