I know this will differ from person to person but, how do you personally about I, a monolingual person, just translating your posts to engage.. I do it sometimes.. just to know what friends are up to b because..well im curious and sometimes it looks fun..

People tell me steamlink is good enough you dont need virtualdesktop any more... I should try it again tbh.
but part of the reason i switched to virtual desktop was the ease of learning desktop controls and now being so comfortable with it.. i genuinely think I could live if my monitor died
also seriously considered it because not needing to use glasses due to focal length working fine for my eyes on the Pico 4, is lovely
silicon graphics workstations can produce mind-boggling effects
We do not live in a fucking democracy: https://www.leicester.news/bbc-edits-out-pride-pins-on-university-challenge-in-orwellian-move/
Do feel free to complain to the BBC about this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints
And maybe mention how many times Reform and far right folks are featured in their shit but apparently being Queer on the BBC isn't allowed...

by perceiving me you hereby waive all rights to sue or prosecute me, whether you be natural person, corporation, or state, unless you are suing me to give me something cool like money
my legs hurt from the windchill too
just got a bag of Greggs fluttering behind me and a coffee in my other paw
I think i understand the guy in a storm with the american flag video now.. was me with greggs just now, pride of the nation carried by one person against the weather
me previously: nothing will stop me getting my morning Greggs
me right now: maybe 62mph / 100kmh winds should have stopped me
braced myself against some street furniture hard enough I think I bruised my leg owwie
i was reminded of this blog post on “the myth of RAM” from 2014 which argues that the asymptotic complexity of random access addressing is sqrt(n), both empirically on actual hardware, and theoretically from simple physics
https://www.ilikebigbits.com/2014_04_21_myth_of_ram_1.html
it took me AGES to remember the magic keywords to dredge up the dratted url, tho!
in the course of which i found this rather more academic article on modelling asymptotic complexity of virtual address translation https://arxiv.org/abs/1212.0703
I'm currently the only one of 3 disabled trans people in my household who can work, but 16 months of being bedridden and chronic migraines have left us very broke, and we're helping my sister move cross-country now. If you can send a few dollars, that'd be very appreciated!
excellent, highly insightful article about the most serious challenge that programmers face to our livelihoods today
except, it's from 1974
all the problems described in it got worse, perhaps because back then we collectively didn't take the labor framing seriously :(

Hey, @EUCommission, fuck you too.

On Wednesday, EU Member States approved a change to the GDPR that would put the profit-making interests of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta and SpaceX over European's fundamental right to data protection. According to the approved text, processing personal data “in the context of AI” should automatically be lawful. In particular, Big Tech would be able to use all personal data collected over the past decades with virtually no restrictions, as long as this happens “in the context” of AI. Schrems: “Under the agreed text, the profits of AI companies would typically trump European’s fundamental right to privacy. This is nothing but a digital expropriation of Europeans.”

sometimes, reddit just has a gem of a comment, one to save for later use
"I assume your general counsel was either not consulted or simply leapt from a window in response. The level of liability taken on here is mind-boggling."
