    "antifa" stands for "anti-fascist"

According to logics, people who are not antifa are fascist

On most things I would say there are multiple layers, a in-between, gray area or whatever but not if it comes to this

It shouldn't be that hard for people to say

Let's please stop giving fascists space to debate or get heard, it's so super easy..

@stux Right?!? It's pretty weird being a member of this mysterious terrorist org. I swear I don't know where their HQ is located.

@JPZ @stux I ought to know, as I am a very high-ranking antipope within the strictly hierarchical and in no way ad-hoc organized organization that antifa certainly is. The HQ was in your heart, all along. So send in a miniaturized ninja squad. Arrest the whole lot, and scrape off some of the arterial plaques while you're in there.

@stux There are very few cases where "You're either with us or against us" is true.

This is one because we can demonstrate the mechanism.

Fascists will use anything or anyone to get what they want.

If you're not actively resisting them, you're at least passively their tool.

@stux And yes, there are fascist tools, those who think they're neutral or who sided with fascists out of ignorance rather than core values, and they can certainly be turned to antifa. There are approaches that do not involve accusing them in order to reach them.

But until they're turned, until they stop carrying water for fash, there's nothing wrong with sternly holding them to that when the timing is right.

And often, the timing is right, to say hey, you are working against your own values here to help those who would exterminate me. Stop that.

@stux according to my logic both camps are being muted in my socials, because both are boring and idiotic

"Look mom, I got internet points by creating a bad analogy!"

In fact - if you are not Christian, you can still be agnostic, which basically means that you don't have problems with Christians.

So, you're telling us that you are fascist-agnostic here, which means you have no problems with fascism.

@mndflayr @evrial @stux Also, lots of versions of Christianity don't demand absolute fealty, or even the same belief system. I've spent time in churches where the priest himself said it didn't matter if you were a Muslim or an atheist or anything else. Fascism is a lot more likely to force that binary on you and everyone else. There is no "enlightened fascism", but I would argue there is absolutely enlightened Christianity.

@mndflayr @evrial @stux You can't "opt out" of fascism. You either fight it now, or you fight it when it shows up on your doorstep with a gun. And the former is a lot easier than the latter.

@theorangetheme @mndflayr @stux fascism is a symptom of socioeconomic situation and wealth distribution or consolidation. Native americans were henocided long before it had a name, that's why I call it idiotic, blind to root cause.

@stux nah, they are just not anti fascist.

the problem with them is not that they are sympathetic to fascists, it's just that they see fascism as an abstract historic thing, and not the reason the neocolonial structures and extractionism is the basis for their comfortable lives.

only once the system fails you enough that you also end up on the exploited side, will you see that and be able to become anti fascist.

saying people who aren't antifa are fascist helps absolutely noone, instead they need to be educated on how fascism is a tool for the simple sake of obtaining power, used by the wealthy to have the working people blame each other instead of working together.

i always use the argument that germany spends so much on refugees who don't work, and saying that it's the refugees stealing the german working people's money. first i ask how much it is (noone knows) and then i tell them that in the past 20 years, the 50 wealthiest people extracted more wealth than the past 20 years of refugee system cost. and then i ask them whether it would make more sense to give all that money to the billionaires or to the millions of refugees we "helped" over the past 20 years.

and that really gets shit going, bcs it's absolutely certain that at one point people unaware of neocolonialism use that argument. and just the fact alone that just a few dozen of their own country-people take more money from them than all the people fleeing war and famine caused by us does flick a switch for most people.

and those where that doesn't work, yeah, they're fascists.

@stux While I agree with your premise, I disagree with the logic by which you arrived at it. By the same logic, if you oppose "Moms for Liberty", you must be against liberty... or moms, I guess.

@me I am more pointing at the people are actively against it 😉

Most people would agree without a second thought probably, but the ones vilifying it are the real ones..

Yes, which is why the logical next step would be to check whether the intention of the name is upheld/reflected by actions

@stux Yeah. Most people just want to fall in line behind a king.

Most people are actually like that, and only a minority actually cares about human rights.

But we have this rhetorical justification of the current order that tells people they aren’t doing that. 🤔

@gimulnautti @stux I heavily doubt it's the majority. But if someone tried to crown themselves king, maybe not enough people might oppose them as much as the occasion would require...

@stux According to the white supremacist morons in the White House, those 9389 Americans who sacrificed their lives during Operation Overlord in 1944 to stop the fascist nonsense in Europe and were buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France were terrorists. That's what their dumb propaganda signals to the world. Would love to see some battle-tested American veterans repeatedly pointing out their hypocrisy and how much those weak assholes disrespect every victim of WWII.

@stux The secret third thing is "person ignorant about the history of fascism and philosophy behind fascism and the consequences of allowing fascism to progress unchecked". Or "idiot", if you prefer.

Yeah, but according to their “I’m the rubber you’re the glue” logic, the people who are not antifa are the real victims here.

@stux but I despise them both. I don't need the antifa badge to be anti fascist, you know... that badge with the red flag over the black flag.
