Decided to stop for a flat white before work, and this raven tried to feed me breakfast. I did not order food; he actually picked that off another table and gifted it to me.
This is why I prefer animals over people. I don't have to be "useful" in order to not be ignored.

Humans can do that too! I've had surprise gifts of rhubarb (twice) a bag of chocolate and wine, and a bag of home grown tomatoes in the last 3 days. All totally unexpected, all from different folk, dropped at my door out of the blue

I suspect the four chokos found on our front lawn were gifted by cockatoos. Two vines now growing in the backyard.

Corvids are my favorite. I'm working on making friends with a female blue jay that visits my front yard.

I've read that they're quite intelligent, have very good memories and remember human faces. Them and crows.
