A year or two from now, nearly everyone in the Republican party will exclaim that they were privately always against Trump and really truly were trying to stop the damage behind the scenes.
Our job is to tell them to fuck off into the sun.

@mcnado
I’d like to see them stripped of their ill-gotten wealth and in prison, personally.
@crispius and the thing is, very few of them gained ANYTHING for it. Just culture wars revenge.
@mcnado As my late partner who was in bomber crews over Nazi Germany said, "After the war was over, suddenly no one had been a Nazi."
@flyhigh @mcnado one of the interesting things i got from reading g.m. gilbert's account of the nuremberg trials was how many top nazis we're actually not nazis at all! and had stood up to hitler and disapproved of his decisions! (very sarcastic). iirc at some point several different defendants started co-opting an assassination attempt against hitler, all accusing each other of ruining the plan
@frahtehderp @flyhigh @mcnado It's so rediculous as everyone that ever actually did disagree with Hitler ended up against a wall with a blindfold.
@mcnado ...the job *should be* loading them into giant catapults for an express one-way trip to the sun, but...baby steps, I guess.
@mcnado Or they’ll insist that it’s all in the past and we should only look forward and not think about the last decade.

@mcnado ONE HUNDRED FUCKING PERCENT 🤘🤘🤘
@mcnado You really think so? Why would they? I don't think they are capable of acknowledging the damage or their amorality; so why would the feel any urge to disclaim it?
I don't see them renouncing Bush or Reagan today; if anything, they're more devoted to those monsters than ever. So why would Trump be any different?
@jbayes one can hope that this time there is some accountability and reckoning, given that when this all comes crashing down people are going to be hurting across the whole political spectrum.
Trumpism is our current form of fascism hopefully on its way to the trash bin of history.
Once a lying fascist always a lying fascist. We must fight against them rising again in another form.
@mcnado Or go to mars 🙃😹
@em_and_future_cats Mars: New Australia.
@mcnado in the 90s there was some media that pointed out how hard it was to find an over 55 person who would admit to having voted for Nixon,a man elected President twice.
@mcnado That is not a problem. They can apologize if they want forgiveness, but I think the toddlers who were terrorized by ICE get to decide whether they deserve it
@mcnado hasn't this already happened like a dozen times?
@mcnado One to two years is optimistic.
@mcnado Quite the opposite. They’re still trotting out Reagan as the great uniter who everybody loved.
Hitler was still very popular in Germany after they lost the war and the country was destroyed, and even after the Allies took full control of all media. It took a generation of schooling before the tide turned.
Americans, you need to stop waiting for the 20% of the population that are natural fascists to flip and say you were right all along. You just need to defeat them.
And everyone in the Democratic Party leadership will magically forget that they were the ones who brought Trump to the presidency in the first place, via Hillary's Pied Piper strategy. And then by running a senile mass murdering pedophile and then replacing him with a sociopathic genocide supporter.
Fascism was brought to America by BOTH parties, not just one. Both parties serve the oligarchs, and both parties need to be destroyed.
@mcnado and make sure that when they’ve done that they f**k off a long way more
@mcnado Nuremberg II. No exceptions.
@mcnado maybe ol musko can offer space tourism rides in his shiny new rocket that keeps exploding
Them: But who was I supposed to vote for? The women with the weird laughs?
@mcnado Perhaps a 'middle range' party better grounds an increasingly destabilizing, overextended duopoly, that has had its run of Divide and Conquer, for far too long.
Communism: too little is never too little
Capitalism: too much is never too much
Do the math...
@mcnado Welllllll, a year or two from now or at any point that playing tell-all will make them money.
