Forget ASDA’s soup & bread roll for a quid. Get yourself down to Parliament where they’re doing Miso roasted squash with cashew nut 'feta’, sesame tahini purée, parsnip crisps and sesame dukkah for £3.59.

Or If you're a bit strapped, pop down to the Members' Dining Room at the House of Commons for pressed chicken and caramelised onion with tarragon and chive jelly, pickled vegetables and thyme sourdough at £2.84.

Don't forget to vote against free school meals while you're there.

@feorag @MarkHoltom Yes, but it really depends on whether they pay the chef! One past orkplace of mine fired the ex-school-catering cook one lunchtime when they ran out of mashed potatoes halfway through. Her food was dire. Her replacement was the former management for a National Trust stately house's restaurant: prices rose 50% (from school dinner adjacent) and suddenly we were eating good restaurant-quality meals.

(Alas, they didn't stick around long: it was a temporary replacement.)

@cstross @feorag @MarkHoltom last one I had was at a Scottish government building and was run by serco - and the unhealthy options were taxed so we would avoid them. So everyone went to the little sandwich shop across the road who didn't care about our cholesterol

@MarkHoltom It's almost as if Socialism is okay for them, but not for anyone else.
Get back to work, plebs, how else am I going to afford a three course meal, with alcoholic drinks, for a tenner, on my three hour dinner break, after a strenuous day of jeering at those on the opposite benches.

@MarkHoltom When you think about it, it's pretty beyond the pale for any politician to be against socialism considering their livelihood is paid for in taxes.
