Hello Fediverse! ......I'm Resurrecting this account after a couple of years in mothballs

The old (disused) Glamorganshire #Canal starting to look quite #Autumnal this week at #ForestFarm in #Cardiff, where this Grey #Squirrel was guarding the path. I think she was collecting a nut toll to allow further passage

the sickening irony of this headline:

Christmas tree shortage warning as record-breaking summer heat kills thousands of young trees

very autumn!

*Ego est. I. Vigilate custodes.

warning:
a viciousness of brain weasels has been spotted in the region of My House. one person has already succumbed. if you see them in Your Area, do not attempt to engage them; take evasive action and hide under the blankets.

Every November I find myself entranced by the contrast of dead rushes (sedges? Grasses?) and blue water. The rivers are beautiful year round!

the lemon tree is now indoors for the winter.

@eessll_123 still needs our assistance! She's my sister from across the continent and I am really worried about her not being able to take care of herself and her three little boys.

Her words break my heart and give me desire to continue doing better!!!

If our words are not enough, I hope the art can speak to you. Stop ignoring Palestinians, disabled folk, bipoc folk, and black people!!!

ARGH i am angry and it's about AI and people not doing their jobs.

i tried to buy a postage label the other day. for a non-EU country, so customs documentation required. i entered all the info, but when the label printed out, it was formatted as if for the EU and included no customs info at all. it was, therefore, useless and illegal.

i contacted the postal service, explained what had happened, and sent an image of the label so they could see.

i received a copy-paste reply today.
"you have contacted us for information about customs requirements for international parcels" followed by a paragraph telling me that EU parcels didn't need customs forms but foreign parcels did.

FUCKING.

no human can have read my mail. no human, nevermind the name at the bottom of the reply, can have replied to my mail. so i have now replied back, tersely, and attached the image again. we shall see.

but like.
people are losing their jobs to AI, but some people aren't even doing the jobs they still have and are just letting the AIs go to town and that's so twistedly wrong that i can't even.

we eat a lot of pumpkin-like squashes, but their seeds aren't any good roasted, and our samhain pumpkin this year wasn't edible.

but husband went into town yesterday and to the bio shop, and they had an edible halloween-type pumpkin!

so now we can have pumpkin seeds and cakes and i'm really very excited about that :abunhdhappyhop: :Blobhaj_Pumpkin:

yesterday, the french national assembly voted on its first reading of the first and not-already-rejected part of the 2027 budget.

out of 460 voting, 458 voted no (2 abstained).

finally, they agree on something! 🤣
