"WASHINGTON, June 2 (Reuters) - Staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency were left baffled on Monday after the head of the U.S. disaster agency said during a briefing that he had not been aware the country has a hurricane season, according to four sources familiar with the situation."

I see that he served as a combat Marine in "The Long War", apparently a new government euphemism for the War on Terror. Once atlantic surface temps no longer cool enough due weakening currents, there may be a point where tropical cyclones form year-round with near-equal frequency. Therefore, not seasonal.

Jun 2, 2025, 9:33 PMI live in the part of the US that doesn't have hurricanes. I've never known anyone who lived in an area with hurricanes. I am not a weather buff. I haven't watched tv news since the 90s. I don't really ever think about hurricanes
But I know we have a hurricane season
I just cannot imagine the level of restricted life that person must have lived
But maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way
Maybe it's not about not knowing
Maybe it's about brain fog, not having ACCESS to the stuff that we know

Of course they won’t see it coming either because you know who also decimated national weather service and NOAA along with FEMA.

So is Richardson feigning ignorance about hurricane season, or trying to cover his butt when things go wrong?
