So I take it modern human beings are unaware that it’s possible to watch movies (and tv shows) made many (many) years ago in their original form and appreciate them without having to remake or reboot them? Without "updating" them in any way?

I demand we begin mandatory film appreciation classes starting in middle school and continuing through high school (and beyond). Or we could nuke Hollywood from orbit, just to be sure they stop making stupid remakes of things that were perfect the first time and are younger than my nonexistent children (and in some cases my also nonexistent grandchildren).

The other day I was part of a panel, and introduced myself with "they" pronouns.

I was also wearing a t-shirt that says "one of them".

Afterwards two people who were in the audience came up to speak to me. Each of them, seperatly, thanked me (very intensely!) for my interesting talk and then hung around for a bit, kind of awkwardly before leaving.

I don't know if I was imagining it but I wonder if they wanted to talk to me about gender identity / being nonbinary but didn't know how?

Me being totally clueless how to talk to people, didn't help 😐

It’s only 85f outside, although humidity feels like New Orleans. I have so much yard work that needs to be done. So much. But all I want to do is go nap. Chainsaws are heavy. Rose bushes are spiky, and the dead tree right in front of the window isn’t getting any more alive. Still, nap though.

I made the phone call I've been dreading and putting off.

The internet is down over there, they can't arrange anything for me now.

So one phone call I was dreading has magically multiplied into multiple future phone calls I'm dreading.

This is how things work out when I try to use a telephone _all the time_. I think I must have angered a witch at some point.

So, global warming, which is real, is wreaking havoc on mountains and glaciers. Permafrost is what holds a lot of glaciers together, what with gravity wanting it to fall down. Switzerland is not alone in seeing significant changes in the mountains, but seeing the footage of millions and millions of cubic meters of glacier moving to completely engulf a town is terrifying for us all, not just the people who lost their homes. Global warming is a clear and present danger. Thank gods these people are Swiss and have a government that will help them, unlike the storm victims in the US.
