A Bungle retrospective spanning their career.

Version 1 Bungle - 1972
Legend has it George Lucas got the idea of an impossibly tall, hairy companion after visiting the UK in the early 70s.

Version 2 Bungle -1972
Starts to resemble a teddybear but the head is still detached.

Version 3 1973 – 1989
The most enduring image of Bungle. Head and neck in one piece, drawing less attention to the joins in the costume, teddybear like.

1996 Bungle
The "gritty reboot". Bungle is now an adult and runs a shop. Gone are the sparkly glass eyes of youth, the vestigial eye-holes are slightly unsettling. Has definitely "seen things".

Bungles 2 and 4 are the only ones I'd confidently offer out for a fight in a pub carpark.
Bungle 1, I'd avoid eye contact. Fuck that, let's go to the Red Lion lads.

I'm surprised at the legs the thread has had - I had the images from a shit post I made a few years ago and @inpc@go.mxtthxw.art 's conceit that Bungle died rather than his voice John Leeson was just too much fun to miss

I wasn't aware he was also the voice of K9.
I don't imagine when he was at RADA he thought that his legacy would be roles as a giant camp teddy bear and a robot dog.
I loved Rainbow when I was little. RIP Bungle/John

Fun Rainbow related fact.
Jane, of Rod, Jane and Freddy fame, was married to both Rod and Freddy (not at the same time).

that's a whole other drama category right there - brave faces making children's tv while behind the scenes complex adult stuff was going on. IIRC she was seeing one while married to the other, got divorced, eventually married the other after all three continued to work together for decades.
Jane: Bungle, George, Zippy this is your new uncle ...
Zippy: ... but ... but ... that's just Freddy! Why is Rod crying?
Geoffrey reaches over and zips Zippy's mouth shut

I think most people remember Geoffrey (Charles Geoffrey Hayes) as the Rainbow presenter but he only picked up the mantle in 1974.

Before him was David Cook who went on to have a successful career as a tv script writer.
