Phillip Inman is right, the UK's ongoing housing crisis will only start to be solved when tax incentives that promote housing-as-asset are dismantled & something that focusses on houses as where we live put in its place.

This is a necessary but not sufficient move; reform is also required in the realm of finance & in social housing.

But as Inman points out the middle-class professionals stand in the way & Govt. will need to find a way around them.

Interestingly enough - Milton Friedman's dad was a wealthy clothing factory owner until the introduction of minimum wage legislation, at which point his sweatshop went under as it couldn't make a profit without underpaying its workers.

Milton then went on to create a revenge fantasy where his dad won. We are living in it.

Exactly. I’m adopting a zero tolerance model now, and unfollowing anyone if I see them referring to using LLMs, regardless of how “ethically” they think they’re doing it, or how much I might otherwise see them as good people.

I’m especially dumbfounded at supposed creative types who “only” make use of it in ways not directly connected to their primary art form. Hypocrites happy to throw others under the bus.
