Halloween tradition: passing out fruit and veg seeds. Since the fertilizer/oil shortages are likely to affect food security, I passed out 10 varieties of seeds to grow throughout the year. It took me all month to collect, pack and label. I made 20 bags and was able to pass out 17 to different families. (Last year it was only 15).

This is part of my food security in climate change project.

A bright orange bag with a cool beans sticker (two little beans with sunglasses) sits on a dark background. Surrounding the bag are various labeled seed packets. The plastic bag has all the seeds that need cold stratification so the recipient can just put the bag in the fridge. There is a paper with all the growing instructions for plants, when to plant and harvest and what parts of the plant are edible and what they taste like.
A metal cart with two shelves holds numerous orange bags. The bags are neatly arranged, with the cart placed on a concrete surface.
