@janl what‘s your reasoning for writing code by hand? Asking out of real curiosity. I can see many reasons. Personally I rarely do as I am a cofounder in a small startup and in that situation speed is king
@Philip are you for real?
@janl yes. Surprise? It seems that our information bubbles don’t overlap much?
Is it ethical concerns, preference, environmental concerns or something else? (All of these have something to them IMO)
@Philip I think you should stop following me
@Philip but for your reference:

@janl It would be a sad existence if I only followed people that I 100% agree with.
Thank you for the links. So it's ethical concerns, mostly. I get that (and respect it).
@Philip this reads to me that you see those concerns as negotiable.
@janl yeah I mean... I use LLMs although I understand, and, to a degree, share, the ethical concerns.
We can have a conversation about how I arrived at that decision if you're interested but I don't think a string of toots is the right medium for it.
@janl we‘re not
@janl I still haven't used AI to help me do my job, or to write code. Some of my coworkers do, I don't see how it could improve my situation or speed up my work. I have no interest in exploring it either. I'll keep doing things by hand as doing it by hand keeps my mind sharp and ready to learn more.
