OMG ICE just shot someone in Marble Hill! There was a five year old kid in the back of the car.
Marble Hill is in the Bronx, although technically it's part of Manhattan. It's a quiet almost suburban like neighborhood. I have family who lives there. (They are OK.)
I think they said the man who was shot would live but I don't know.
This sucks.
The guy had clearly just picked up his kid from school or day care. WTF.
And that's a dense neighborhood. It's a miracle only one person was hit.
@futurebird
It does.
@futurebird i really hope he survives. we don't need more martyrs, we need fascists to yeet themselves into the sun.
@futurebird and they're into the traditional round of smearing the victim to justify shooting him.
Oct 8, 2026, 11:09 PMOh shit, never leave a wounded witness. They'll have to rendition him from the hospital.
There may be some residential or commercial cameras and people in the area with video. Lots of eyes on those streets.
WTF!
we need to completely abolish ICE, investigate/prosecute/jail all the former gang members of ICE.
"ICE was looking for a person with a prior robbery arrest and an open drug case at the time of the shooting"
Jesus and they just run around shooting people over this nonsense. I would rather simply live with the maybe (maybe not who knows) robber than have shootings.
@futurebird when will your country go on a general strike?
@NovaNaturalist @futurebird Just as soon as people from other countries stop telling us how our country works. So I guess never. 😞
@futurebird this sadly never ends
Oct 9, 2026, 12:13 AM@futurebird Just another reason why ICE should be disbanded and like I said before, if/when the Repubs are out of power, a lot of people are going to have a lot to answer for.
@futurebird Yikes, that's not very far from where my son lives. It sucks that we all have to worry about family members getting shot by ICE, either on purpose or by accident.
He was driving the same kind of car my brother has. It's sick.
This is what the NYC Public Advocate has to say about it.

@futurebird They want am excuse to declare martial law. Don't give it to them.... Not yet.
Oct 9, 2026, 2:29 AMICE kidnapped someone in my sleepy, extremely residential, neighborhood earlier this year, and then detained the person who dropped the kidnap-ee off until his car battery died. Not as bad as a shooting, but things always escalate so easily with the Brown Shirts.
Does NYC have an alert system? My (very small) city does, where people get alerted when ICE is active in their neighborhood. It worked for us, we were all out there (and were able to jump the guy's battery).
@futurebird maybe some normative public hangings could teach then restraint?
