Oct 16, 2026, 5:23 PMA very basic light table, i just put a rechargeable LED light in a storage box that has a semi-transparent lid. Works well enough.

I had a really kickass one when i was in animation school :>... i miss it sometimes (wouldn't be practical on a boat anyhow ^^) .
Oct 16, 2026, 6:06 PM@rek they make ones that are super thin and light now, portable enough for boat 👀

@lake honestly im glad to not have to buy another thing right now :>, this setup works well enough.
Oct 16, 2026, 5:36 PM@rek I have ill-advisedly used laptop screens as light tables on occasion as well. Your approach seems less likely to be catastrophic.

Jencel Panicabuseofnotation@mathstodon.xyzOct 17, 2026, 5:54 AM@rek What is it for?

@abuseofnotation in this case i needed a light table to re-draw part of a comic id already drawn, i wanted to have some select items colored with coloring pencils, but was afraid to mess up the original :>...
