The album is now released!! Please let me know what you think 🤗
https://tidal.com/browse/album/446879557?u (Contains links for most major streaming platforms)
I gave up on CD Baby. They came back to me after almost 2 weeks letting me know they could not publish the album because it had a "file extension" in the album name. And they had the audacity to ask me to change the album name as well as the cover art.
Went to Distrokid, and the album was on all major platforms within 12 hours. No issues whatsoever.

@znurre How would you describe this album? What was your inspiration?

@adamsdesk I guess for starters, I have been into happy hardcore, uk hardcore and freeform for the longest time. I started listening to Blümchen when I was 10, and moved on to uk hardcore and freeform in my teens.
Artists such as Gammer and Kevin Energy are big inspirations to the sound.
I also love artists such as Malmen and Nanobii, who do actually create similar sounding music. Malmen is seemingly on a hiatus though, and Nano kinda changed his style.
So I felt like there was a vacuum.

@adamsdesk If I had to genre it, I would say it's chiptune infused uk hardcore/happy hardcore with freeform elements (the acid, for example).
I hope that answers your question 😊

@adamsdesk Also, all of these songs were created to be released at demoparties over the past 4 years.
If you would look at scene.org, you would see earlier versions of them there. I went through my entire backlog and remixed and remastered them for this album, to make everything sound coherent.
So yeah usually I would be like "ok, I should probably create something to release at this party", and let that be my motivation.
The song "Solen lyser" for example was made in 1 day for Edison 2023 😊

@znurre Thank you so much for the detailed response. I'll be featuring this in the July issue of my blog series called Little Bits, https://www.adamsdesk.com/topic/littlebits/. Due for release in August.

@znurre I can't believe I forgot about scene.org. I use to go here many years ago. I'll have to explore around the archives for a bit. 😄

@adamsdesk For sure! So many amazing pieces of music, and art in general. Do you ever go to demo parties as well?

@znurre No I've never been. Not even sure if this exists where I live.
For some reason this makes me recall a time before EDM and it was just called dance music, where it costs around $75 or more per CD just to get a copy in central Canada. My has time changed now.

@adamsdesk Oh yeah, I am old enough to remember those times as well. Here in Europe it was way cheaper, haha.
And yeah... I don't think Canada has that much of a demoscene presence, unfortunately 😞

@znurre Oh I realized that, but thankfully it's no longer an issue.
I did get a few demoscene cassette tapes, but I've never heard of demoparties. Could be there just not widely talked about.

@adamsdesk I have actually not heard about any demoparties in Canada. A quick check of https://demoparty.net shows that there is *one* demoparty in 2025 in the entirety of NA, and that is in the US 😞
So I guess it's not really a big thing in NA, which would explain why you haven't heard about them. Here in Europe, they are very abundant as you can see 😄

@adamsdesk They are cool events anyway, especially if you're into digital creativity. I would really recommend you to go to one if you get the opportunity. People are usually super welcoming, even if you don't know much about the demoscene 🙂

@znurre Some time maybe. This is different than what you're talking about but I've dreamed of going to Tomorrowland. I've never been to something like this so not certain how it would really be.

@adamsdesk I haven't been to an electronic music festival of that size, so cannot say for sure. I have been to smaller underground rave parties though (~300 people), and those have been really good with amazing vibes.
I am sure a festival like Tomorrowland would be amazing as well!

@znurre I'm a big fan of EDM and only recently started listing to synthwave, chiptune, etc. thanks to @grueproof. I've never heard of these artists unfortunately.

@adamsdesk That's very cool! I think especially Malmen might be something that is up your alley then.
Can recommend this album for example https://malmenmusic.bandcamp.com/album/fakebit-world
Some of his stuff is kinda synthwaveish too, like https://malmenmusic.bandcamp.com/track/vic-formation
