@aeva but that's why they have the plugin that pops up the keybinds while I watch someone rig the leg! so I can look at it and go "ah, yes, of course. ctrl-p a-x fn-f13-left alt-u, yes, that makes sense that that would do it"!

@halcy i don't think the assignation of the hotkeys bothers me, it's just the sheer volume of the things. and that's probably as much to do with the domain of the tool at this point. i'd prefer a better function discovery mechanism/in-app search, especially given that video tutorials be like "and now just do the blibble transform [no explanation, key combination does not appear on screen]"

@aldroid @halcy there is in app search for uh most things, I think the default key is F3. the hotkey volume is real, I don't think I'd get far in any of the tutorials if i had to remember all the damn keys. I have no clue how people learned blender before the search

@halcy i would really prefer to be able to use my mouse for everything (serious answer) and i'll tell you why. i cannot count the number of times i've pressed the wrong key by accident, and then not known what it just did, or whether it did anything at all that needs undoing. or when i try to find out how to do a thing and just get a list of keys to press with no explanation of what any of them do, only to find out that one of them definitely did something i didn't want.
