TEASERS also finished the game, and extended QUIVER to QUIVERS on a triple word score

scrabble news: FOUR (4) bingos! count 'em: TrUDGES, UNDEIFy, LARDONS and TEASERS

In the early 1990s, while working as a youngster in an Amsterdam animation studio, I co-created one of the first fully computer-animated TV series in the Netherlands: "Mannetje & Mannetje".

We used a mix of drawn elements and digitized photos in DPaint on Amigas. We made one 5-minute episode a week, while in the evenings, sometimes nights, I worked on the Hoi Amiga game. 😅

I'm currently uploading a range of episodes to my Archive. Here's a link to the first episode:

has science gone too far

has anyone done this yet

Philomena: Some people have been writing PHP for over 20 years. Is that because it's particularly difficult to finish?

Expert: No, software is constantly evolving.

Philomena: So they've been writing the same website for 20 years?

Expert: No, different projects.

Philomena: Have they tried finishing one before starting another?

Expert: That's not how software development works.

Philomena: My mate Paul spent 20 years building a shed. Turned out he was just an alcoholic.

Expert: Right.

Philomena: Is PHP like that?

EDIT: Hey please read the post attached below <3 you're all wonderful and I'm glad this post made so many critters smile

I got hauled into a data center today because Claude was used to spec it and screwed up badly. At least 2,500 GPUs were in an impossible upside down and backwards plan.

😱

I had to pause the call because I couldn't stop laughing. AI had sabotaged the AI datacenter spec for building more AI.

“It’s a poor worksman who blames his tools” has always been complete nonsense. No-one complains about imperfect tools faster and louder than a master. A master will yank a cheap or damaged tool out of your hand and yell at you for not blaming it yet

Cheap, lousy tools come from middle managers who don’t know how to do your job. Blame the hell out of poor tools and those who demand you use them

what

no their not

Ken Thompson, 1983: wouldn't it be awful if someone snuck secret code into a compiler that broke our ability to trust the output of a computer

AI Guy, 2026: wouldn't it be cool if we stuck something we know can't be trusted into every part of the computer

It's called two factor authentication because there are two factors and they're both two.
