The more and more I look up questions on SwiftUI, the more I realise what a mistake it was bothering to use it. Should have just stayed focused on Swift and would have got so much more done. 😒 Can’t set colours of certain UI elements, can’t clear TextFields on touch, can’t have a simple bar on top of the keyboard apparently!? 🤷‍♂️

Dieser Typ von Fehler ist nicht harmlos. Wer solche Behauptungen aufstellt, legt sie anderen in den Mund — und macht sie angreifbar. Kritiker brauchen für ihre Arbeit keine eigenen Argumente mehr. Sie müssen nur zitieren.

Das gilt für die politische Ebene. Auf der medizinischen Ebene wiegt es schwerer. Wer Wirkmechanismen falsch beschreibt, gibt Anwendern eine falsche Grundlage für Entscheidungen, die ihre Gesundheit betreffen. Aus einem chemischen Fehler wird eine Anwendungserwartung. Aus einer falschen Anwendungserwartung wird im Ernstfall ein Schaden. Die Nachlässigkeit beim Überprüfen von Fakten und die Nachlässigkeit beim Beschreiben von Wirkprinzipien sind nicht zwei getrennte Probleme — sie haben dieselbe Wurzel.

Dasselbe Muster zeigt sich bei biochemischen Grundlagen. Im selben Interview wird behauptet, Chlordioxid erhöhe den Sauerstoffgehalt im Blut, weil es im Körper zu Sauerstoff zerfalle. Das ist chemisch falsch. Chlordioxid ist ein Oxidans — es reagiert, es zerfällt nicht zu molekularem Sauerstoff in relevantem Ausmaß. Oxidation und Sauerstoffzufuhr sind verschiedene Vorgänge. Ich beschreibe diesen Fehler und seine Konsequenzen in meinem Buch.

Wer bei überprüfbaren Sachverhalten nicht überprüft, gibt seinen Lesern keinen Grund, bei unüberprüfbaren Sachverhalten zu vertrauen.

Chlordioxid hat reales, chemisch beschreibbares Potenzial. Es gibt publizierte Forschung dazu, die einer sorgfältigen Analyse standhält. Ich kenne sie. Ich habe sie ausgewertet.

Dieses Potenzial wird nicht durch Gegner gefährdet. Es wird durch Behauptungen gefährdet, die einer einfachen Recherche nicht standhalten — und die jeden, der sie wiederholt, unglaubwürdig machen.

Mein Buch ist kein Angriff auf Chlordioxid. Es ist ein Versuch, das zu schützen, was an der Substanz real ist — gegen die, die es mit Unprüfbarem überladen.

Evaluation of the bvars Package for Multivariate Time Series Analysis

Over the past three days, I evaluated the bvars package (Liu, Ramirez Hassan, & Woźniak) for multivariate autoregressive modeling in R. The package is available on CRAN with DOI: 10.32614/CRAN.package.bvars.

Dataset Characteristics:

The evaluation employed 280 multivariate time series datasets, each comprising nine univariate series. Series length varied between 90 and 450 observations. The data consisted of operational metrics from 2022–2024, including purchase orders, schedule lines, material movements (inbound/outbound), sales orders (requested and confirmed quantities), deliveries, and inventory levels across multiple materials. Given their operational origin, these series exhibited substantial stochastic variation, making them appropriate for assessing time series analysis and forecasting methods.

Comparative Performance:

Within each dataset, the nine series exhibited significant lagged cross-correlations. The standard vars package failed to converge or produce valid estimates for approximately 67% of datasets. In contrast, bvars successfully converged for 279 of 280 datasets (99.6% convergence rate). All analyses employed the default configuration of 10,000 MCMC draws, which proved adequate for these datasets. Posterior diagnostics, model validation tests, and forecast assessments all indicated satisfactory model specification and estimation quality.

Conclusion:

These results suggest that bvars offers substantial advantages over traditional VAR methods for highly correlated multivariate time series with substantial noise. I recommend this package for practitioners working with similar operational or business datasets.
