I just bought a coworking membership because sometimes I need access to a reliable conference room for Zoom meetings with more buttoned up clients who might not enjoy my cat shoving her butthole on my laptop camera so I guess I am an official girlboss now 😇
Everyone loves shitting on the Romance genre, but quite frankly, if the men paid at all any spec of attention to the consent happening in those novels, the world would be a far better place. “is this comfortable? Can I touch you here? I need your full consent before we do this. Does that feel good? How do you feel?”
You can find all those empowering questions, and more, in Romance novels everyone hates so much.
How I usually find Romances is below.
like baby the reason we'll probably never have socialism in our lifetimes is that most socialists are so incredibly annoying no one wants to be around them.
I can't speak for the other big C cities in Ohio, but at least here in Cincinnati our socialist groups are overrun by overcaffeinated 20-somethings who are frankly still deprogramming from a lifetime of right-wing Catholic and conservative family socialization. I can't trust them to organize a sock drawer let alone people. When I was bullied out of DSA I decided that my energies are better spent elsewhere and I consider myself a socialist in exile.
At this point I'm low key convinced that PSL is a CIA psy-op. Very glad I saved all my receipts of very brutal Mao Zedong style struggle sessions from the PSL jerk who bullied me out of DSA for my thought crimes of proposing that we could work on multiple campaigns at once.
I feel like it should be a bigger national news story that Republican PACs are pouring resources into a potential spoiler candidate fronted by PSL (lmao forever, one of my former DSA political bullies was a dual carder with PSL and I have nothing but contempt for PSL) and they're funding tons of mailers showing this guy as basically Ohio's Mamdani, but he'll ultimately be a spoiler candidate against Sherrod Brown. https://www.commondreams.org/opinion/gregy-levy-ohio-senate
I hope this email finds you well, and enjoying the best of life.
AI has enough truly stunning use cases within science, medicine, and many professions that I cannot fully get behind a "no one should use AI ever, for any reason" because I find that attitude to be an anti-intellectual and frankly pretty uninformed stance about AI. But I also feel the same way for people who completely outsource all of their professional decisionmaking to popular LLMs! You can really see people losing critical thinking skills in real time and it's scary
I am not completely anti-AI. I have some very limited AI use cases that I run in my business, and I'm working on writing up a policy (without the use of AI!!!) about if/when/how I use it. BUT: I've been totally flummoxed by how many people I keep meeting who say "Oh I was opposed to it and now I use it for EVERYTHING" like..... guys what is going ON?! It's like the tech equivalent of liberal women who become conservatives once they get married and move to the suburbs.
I said nothing, and tried to think nothing.

how the fuck do broke creative self-employed public figures keep up with their inboxes? I feel like I am constantly letting people down/hanging which is deeply at odds with my self image. If I had the $$$ the first thing I would do is hire a personal assistant, but I don't have that kind of cash flow.
also to pre-empt inevitable comments: genuinely not interested in anyone's 2 cents on dating struggles unless you're also a single mid-life sapphic!!!!!!! Spare me from the "on the last chopper out of Nam" vibes that always come out from people who gleefully tell you how glad they are not to be dating right now. like okay????
I tried downloading that new dating app based on your reading tastes from the Co-star people and it was fun to fill out the profile but then it kept showing me straight girls who live in California lolsob because there are no distance filters....!
Today 2pm ET! Happy Electronic #Records Day!
Artificial Interference: How #AI is Showing Up in #Government #Archives
Join us for a discussion of how artificial intelligence is encroaching into archival work. We’ll look at how AI‑generated materials are being incorporated into records retention schedules, how archival records are being scraped to train large language models, and how reference staff are confronting AI‑driven misinformation in the reading room.

I love how Google is thinking I am a bot simply because I am running a few searches in a row with very normal search engine operators

Has anyone ever made something like a 21st century version of a calling card? For now I'm using my biz cards for everything, but I am not satisfied with this. I keep thinking I need a non-business card to give to new friends and acquaintances. Like when I'm traveling and someone tells me they might be coming through Cincinnati, and I always offer to be their tour guide. Maybe with my headshot and a little space to note what we talked about? Any tips?
