@eljojo congrats. Not an easy 10 days. I have a friend who swears by it. Can't go myself bc too ill (in particular, I canet stay sitting more than ~20 mins) but I hope to get there someday.

@calicoday hey thank you so much! they were truly arduous days, but very much worth it.

do you have any physical illness? I'm sure the team would be happy to accommodate, it might be good to reach out to course management. the point is NOT to torture yourself.

if you can sit for 20 minutes, I'd recommend the mini anapana course dhamma.org/en/about/mini_anapa

happy to chat about this if you have any questions! all the best 🫶

@eljojo yes, very ill. Terrible back trouble and fibro+ (tho I'm trying meds that are finally making that workable). Sitting long is unbearable (chair is worse than kneeling) but I'm not strong enough to stand long instead. As it is, I'd need to do it lying down most of the time and meditation ppl mostly can't work with that (I get it; the breathing is diff).

Still, I hope things are improving and I will def send Qs when I get closer, thanks!

@calicoday I’m so sorry to hear, I imagine some of what you’re going through, my mom has fibrio too, it’s a lifelong pain.

Dhamma is not about prescribing particular ways of meditating, but about helping people ease the pain from their lives.

The mini anapana session is 25 minutes with teaching, and then it’s only 10 minutes each practice. If you can, give a try sitting on your bed and if the pain becomes too much, you can finish it laying down. All the best to you, hope your pain goes away.
