Dang y'all showed up fast. Thank you. Less than 24 hours and we are already halfway to our first goal. (The goal is at $20,000 but the campaigns could use a lot more than that, so, let's not limit our imaginations. But it would be a great start to hit that number.)
But this is good because we are launching late and the election is VERY soon.
We blew past our first goal of $20,000 on https://superswingdistricts.org/2026/ !
We've raised it to $40,000. Let's go!
(Last year we managed to get to $70,000, which was great, but insufficient. Let's see if we can beat it this time!)
For obvious reasons campaigns are much more able to use money before the absolute last minute. Deadline for the Florida candidate is 10/30 (and I think that's the last one) but sooner is better than later. Hopefully we can get some kind of countdown onto the site to make the urgency clearer
needs must when the devil drives https://lnkd.in/p/g_UYVFua
I don't have enough tracking to determine which donations came from where, but just based on timing, it seems like LinkedIn showed up for well less than 1/4 of what Fedi did. continue to put them to shame, please: we're just a bit over $25k now https://superswingdistricts.org/2026/
also if you're seeing this through the bridge on Bluesky but you're not donating then you are proving the inferiority of atproto as a network
we've got a countdown on the website now too, so you can see how little time is left (IT IS VERY LITTLE TIME)
@glyph y'all got a flyer I could print out with a QR code? I know a place or two that sees a lot of well off center left Dems.
@wronglang that is a great idea but I got nothing. let me share it with the group
@wronglang Share and enjoy https://superswingdistricts.org/2026/flyer.tiff
@glyph thank you!
@wronglang thank YOU! will be curious if this results in any meaningful donations
@glyph I have to sleep before I print but I'm curious too!
@djmitche yeah we are extremely late to the game already but a bit of a boost in the waning days can still matter quite a lot
@djmitche what's the campaign?
Oct 21, 2026, 1:51 AM@glyph Is there a feedback loop? Any idea if the downstream campaigns know what's going on or if it's even a drop in their bucket? Is it naive to consider that like, $2000 to a rural Iowa house race might be meaningful?
1. No, at least not to me. I think they might be vaguely aware they're in the slate.
2. Yes, these local campaigns are often *tiny*, so small donations make a big difference.
@jay in fact, re: 2, there's verbiage on the site about this, smaller campaigns make WAY more efficient use of money than bigger ones. Give to a big campaign and you're likely to get another network TV ad that 3/4 of viewers just ignore or tune out, give to a small campaign and you'll get 1 more canvasser out on the road physically talking to people in person
