I have to stack cookies as they cool because I don't have enough wire racks.
My husband worries that if there was an earthquake they will topple, hit the floor, and therefore be wasted.
Because he is a person of impeccable character and good intentions he keeps walking by to save another cookie from possible calamity.
I don't know what I did to deserve such a partner.
This level of dedication must be rare, right?
The cookies are actually destined to be crumbled up and folded into the homemade ice cream that will be dessert for tomorrow's family lunch event.
I figure it's an event if it is planned in advance. Otherwise it would just be hanging out with family.
Either way there will be good food, fabulous fresh fruit, and sweet treats.

Stacks of chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies.

@NorcalGma2 And he’s supposed to be gaining a few pounds anyway, right? So he’s just following doctor’s orders *and* being a thoughtful husband 😊

These should help. I put in a pound of butter besides all of the chocolate.

Your husband is concerned about the stacking of cookies, yet he has not purchased additional cooling racks?
I think this might be a case of mixed motives...
I also hope the recipe either makes more than you need, or that you doubled it!

I'm sure your cookies and ice cream will be delicious, and the get-together fun for all!

Ha, he wouldn't know where to start to purchase anything. He still uses a flip phone and was recently surprised that I don't mail paper checks to pay bills.
More cooling racks would probably encourage more baking. I'm not sure that's a good idea. I've been to tempted by today's cookies.
I'm glad to see him eating comfortably again.

I'm glad he's eating well again, AND enjoying your cookies...

I made 30 of our favorite cookies on Wednesday, gave half of them away, but the others are all gone now... Cookies are too easy to eat!

My husband is unfortunately very good at online shopping, if I said I need more baking racks, in 10 minutes he'd be able to tell me where to get the cheapest ones, and also where to get the fancy, imported, artisinal stainless steel ones!

It's funny that my husband is a non shopper. His family made a fortune in retail.

@NorcalGma2 Very glad your husband is feeling well enough to worry about those poor cookies.

@NorcalGma2 My Dad's explanation was "checking for doneness." Never mind that Mom was an excellent cook and baker, the possibility that the oven might not be calibrated properly required testing.

@NorcalGma2 Finally made blueberry banana bread today, but threw a few of my own twists in it. Have not yet eaten it, we will see but gonna be plenty moist.

I cut all of the blueberries in half that I use in baking bread or muffins. It keeps them from bursting and leaving holes behind.
