@evan @RickiTarr I believe his name was Eric Johanssen or somesuch (Scandinavian guy with a fairly generic Scandinavian name anyhow).
I didn't have enough time (or inclination) to ask him about why people called him that, but I remember that I couldn't find any reason why he would be called that.

But, he added that his friends called him Ass (short for Assane or similar). I think it is a true story. These kind of things can happen when mixing languages.
