Will I be back here? Maybe! We'll see what happens when Bluesky runs out of money, or pisses everyone off with something. But social networks should be *good* for you. There's a critical detail missing from today's news stories about the UNEP Emissions Gap Report (see 2/2). They all say that under current policies, heating will "rise to 2.8C".
But that glosses over that if climate sensitivity should turn out to be high, heating is projected to be 3.4C. And with all uncertainties included, 4.5C are, while unlikely, not completely out of the question. Risk analysis needs to refer to a worst case, not a 2/3 case.

Ok, our male lead is a bit of a jerk. But it is also apparent that he fell for our female lead almost instantly. And the jerkiness isn't malicious, just spoiled rich kid really wanting that sweetie.
The medical stuff was just an excuse to get them together. They recovered really, really fast from that. I expect a longer recovery from my hand surgery.
Ok fine. I am willing to go along with all this because so far things are endearing enough. My disbelief isn't suspended as much as it is in orbit around Pluto. I can live with this.
However, one thing is getting to me.

I'm testing the waters over at Bluesky now. Feeling a little guilty about it but the general atmosphere on Mastodon has gotten a little stifling of late. It's all men, all techies, all doom. I don't think that's good for me. I've found quite a few of my old Twitter artists active on there so maybe it'll lift my spirits? I don't know.
