I’ve been making bedside water bottles for years but I don’t make them very often. They’re inspired by Mexican botellones—small clay water jugs with an accompanying cup which serves as a cover. Sometimes the cup has a handle. I’ve also discovered a Congolese version of the botellón. It’s such a simple and effective idea that it’s no surprise it would appear in multiple cultures. #pottery #ceramics #beautility

On my side,I train young people in schools and communities about sustainable food production and environmental conservation.
Our harvests are donated to vulnerable families in the community while food from School gardens, eaten by learners.
Let's work together and empower communities.

We believe that once they are solved,we can do more than what we are currently doing.
The first giant block we are having is lack of land for more food production ,training and establishment of a food forest.
We believe that if this limitation is cleared,we can elevate our work and impacts in the community

I have a question. In Polish folk craft—where, for centuries, there were deep class divisions and peasants developed a culture distinct from other social strata—there are these types of clay pitchers. They are porous; water seeps through the surface and evaporates, cooling the contents in the process. Do similar items exist in American craft?
@morton Yes, in Africa and all over the world. My mom who is Nigerian grew up with unglazed, porous water pots in her home that held and cooled water.
