Das war die Körpertemperatur eines in einer Dachgeschosswohnung lebenden Pensionisten, als die Rettungskräfte ihn gestern abend bargen. Heute nach der Versorgung über Nacht auf der Notfallabteilung übernahmen wir ihn mit nur mehr 38°C. Und nein, er hat keine Infektion.

Wetter ist gerade ja Thema. Dass ausgerechnet wetter.com aktuell ganz oben in den Play-Store-Charts steht, sagt leider viel über Android-Apps: 10 Tracker, 37 Berechtigungen - für Wetter. 🌦

In der Datenschutzerklärung: genaue Standortdaten auch für ortsbezogene Werbung, auch durch Dritte. Nach WetterOnline und Databroker-Files sollte eigentlich klar sein, wohin so etwas führen kann.

Nehmt DWD WarnWetter, Kleine Wettervorschau Deutschland, Cirrus oder Breezy Weather aus F-Droid.

People in Europe, please don't let your politicians gaslight you like American politicians do to them.

After every school shooting is never the time to talk about gun control. Making it political is somehow "disrespectful" to the innocent children shot by mad men who got easy access to deadly weapons.

Now is the time to make every heat death political. Make every death count. Scream to the rafters. Hold public funerals for victims of heat deaths. Name the perpetrators. Don't let their deaths become meaningless.

Tell their stories. Use the opportunity to tell children about the lies of fossil fuels. Build monuments. Hold vigils. Sue fossil fuel companies for wrongful death.

Whatever tools you have, use them loudly and proudly. Don't let this slide.

Mein Bruder hat gerade erzählt, dass er einen Hund in einem Auto gesehen hat, als er vom Frühstück in der Bäckerei kam. Er ist sofort zurück ins Geschäft und hat das dort gemeldet. In der Zwischenzeit kam die Halterin zurück und meinte, dass sie das sonst eh nicht mache, und sie ja nur ganz kurz was einkaufen musste. Vor dem Geschäft gab es sogar einen Leinenhaken. Aber nein, sie riskiert lieber, dass dem Hund was passiert.

Today, an unknown bot swarm started using my name, boosting my posts, and inserting itself into communities I helped create. I treated it like any other potential attack and started defending myself and our communities as best I could. This has taken up more of my day than most malicious bot attacks, because it had the air of legitimacy—despite taking the actions of a threat.

When the owner, @evan ¹, came in with the same justifications as the porn-scrapers and LLM-owners I regularly fight against—repeatedly doubling-down in the face of backlash²—I felt more and more sure of my response.

I now feel justified in calling for a #FediBlock of tags.pub (and probably his other projects), at least until a better opt-in consent model is built into the project.

¹ I'm including his name as he's a public figure associated with Activity Pub, and our whole conversation today is already a public record, but please don't dogpile; just defed or block as you see fit and call it a night (or day—I'm not your mom).

Formerly NOAA’s http://Climate.gov, they didn’t disappear. They rebuilt.

Now they’re independent and preserving climate data, outside of political interference, with public support and a team of volunteer scientists.

New high end cocktail: The Reflecting Pool.
1- line your glass with a blue fruit roll up.
Then you're going to need:
2 oz rum
4 oz juice that is kinda yellow (pineapple, mango, orange, lemonade, whatever you like)
1 oz blue curacao (you can adjust for color)
Garnish with lime zest
The yellow and blue liquids make a lovely shade of algae and the rum eventually melts the blue fruit roll up, which is, IMHO, the best part.
