For some reason this reminds me of an event ~1 year ago. Went to a Safeway to get something we could use for dinner (not essential), only to get to the registers & find only 1 person working (with a large line) & the self-checkout with another line.Dinner was almost ready. I did not have 20 mins to wait.
After ~15 secs of musing, I dumped my load of groceries by an unused register and left.
Discovered the next time I went that the mgr saw me. He raced out to open another line.

We are all dominated by fees for everything. The irony is not lost on me that this was a Kroger product. :kekw:
