Jun 27, 2026, 7:52 PMas someone who lives in a country where there is religious education in public schools (for non-Christians there's a class they call "ethics" which is basically learning about world religions and then in higher grades they teach you some philosophy... some schools also offer religious education classes for Muslims): I think the Texas educators could absolutely just go ahead and teach the Bible.... and choose which bits to highlight... and maybe have discussions on the more interesting or controversial passages... it doesn't have to be the way the Christian Nationalists expect it to be. There's plenty of people who when they actually read the Bible realize that what their church preaches is not necessarily the only way to read the text.
I realize that this "plan" requires there to be educators that are up for this task.

oh, you could make it really interesting and teach all the bits that were taken out and discuss why some bits were added later on. discuss all the editorializing by translators and scribes making copies. how the King James version differs from Luther's translation.
But we don't need to make it that complicated. You could also just go looking for all the times Jesus talked about abortion.

Separation of church & state.
The constitution gives us the right to decide for ourselves what religion we choose. Some of us do not believe in god. That is our right too. Religion does not belong in public school.
