@lproven For how long?
@AAKL@infosec.exchange I checked on AlpineBSD's website and one of the first I saw was "the objective of making it possible to use as little AI-generated software as possible". So it's a bit misleading headline.
Depending on the repo you used for it, it may have packages that are "tainted" (have used Generated-AI).

@lproven@vivaldi.net
@lproven@vivaldi.net @AAKL@infosec.exchange @matty I've been messing around with it since a bit before it had a real announcement.
alpinebsd has NO llm generated output in the default installation. the extra repos are not enabled by default and are not depended upon by packages in the base and main repos. they are also not officially supported.
@LunaCOLON3 @lproven @matty @AAKL How long before both compilers are rotten through?
@mansr@society.oftrolls.com @lproven@vivaldi.net @matty @AAKL@infosec.exchange both gcc and llvm are rotten. alpinebsd pulls in an old pre-slop version of gcc and i believe there was discussion of trying to compile with cproc instead on the irc channel
@LunaCOLON3 @lproven @matty @AAKL Do you happen to know the last good version of the compilers?
@mansr@society.oftrolls.com @lproven@vivaldi.net @matty @AAKL@infosec.exchange i believe it is gcc 12.5.0 and llvm 15.0.6
@lproven Might have to try using this as a base for my podman images…
@stephen You can run Podman on FreeBSD but not, AFAIK, on NetBSD... So no, this is not an option.
@lproven 😭
@lproven The state of current open source is grim :(

@lproven The logo makes it look like a DragonFlyBSD, which is funny. Personally, I am optimistic about the project, although it has a monumental task at hand, and I hope it will also bring huge upstream improvements to NetBSD.
@fionescu Well, very slightly, yes. It reminds me more of MorphOS.
@aaronhall Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
