    @alberto_cottica Alas, the $0.99 offer seems to be US-only. Keep an eye on it — sometimes when something goes on sale in the US, Europe and the UK follow later. And I know that it HAS been on sale in those markets in the past, so you may get your chance.

    @angusm
    BTW, I wouldn't rule out that it's me being thick here but Kobo only gives me an Adobe ACSM file which Calibre says is unreadable because DRM while in the book details they promise an non-DRM'd ebook. I can get it liberated from Z-Library so it's fine, but maybe Kobo doesn't abide by your agreed terms here?

    @menos @fdumont Tor .com (who published the book) are DRM-free across their entire catalogue, AFAIK.

    However, I’ve sometimes seen DRM get put on supposedly DRM-free books by the vendor or someone else in the production/distribution chain.

    In that case, I think you have to contact the vendor, and they would have to request a non-DRM’d version from their suppliers, then upload that to their servers. I don’t know how open to this Kobo are, or how long it will take them.

    Sorry about this.

    @EdBruce <sigh> I’m sorry. Tor .com’s titles are supposed to be DRM-free (as the text in the description says), but I guess Kobo does their own thing.

    It might be worth contacting Kobo to let them know they’re serving a DRM’d version when the publisher wants it to be DRM-free. I don’t know how they’ll respond, though.

    Bookshop are good about this; I mailed them about one book and they went back to their supplier to get a fresh, DRM-free copy. I don’t know if Kobo is as responsive.
