@hbons would be nice to have GNOME emoji font instead of google one, also I think there was some design sketches for GNOME emojis on GNOME Gitlab...
@grinka oh never seen them. might have a search for inspiration!
@hbons ping me if you have font-build questions on this (whenever that starts getting relevant). I certainly do not know everything, but I know where to dig & I have a major interest in the solutions improving.
@n8 thanks! will do. but also remind me. :)
@hbons Awesome 😍 Would be great if those would one day be the emojis for all of GNOME ❤️
@moonglum hopefully! if it fits the requirements. I haven't actually looked. maybe it needs the 3K+ set. 🫣
@hbons Wouldn’t it be an option to have your emojis for the common ones, and then fall back to the giant set that is used right now?
@hbons can you remember about legibility at high resolutions? The current gnome emoji set is not very legible in my 1080p laptop, at least in Firefox.
Preferably it would be SVG emojis do that the weight of the lines, or colors, whatever, could be changed on the fly with the accessibility options.
Thanks! 👍
@chesterdott the line thickness is a cool idea. will think about it, thanks! also recolouring could be helpful there.
@hbons Let me know if I can help. I already finished drawing mine.

@frankrausch oh nice, looks amazing!
@frankrausch how long did it take you? 😅
@hbons About six months, but nowhere near full-time.
This includes building a lot of tooling and scripts in Python to manage and process the SVGs I drew in Inkscape.
