Oct 23, 2026, 11:33 PMThis was the calmest Raven from the morning. They seem to be most tolerant of human presence at the beginning and end of the day, possibly coinciding with their grooming and self-maintenance tasks.

Perhaps you're gaining a reputation?

LM Littlemiki_lou@mastodon.socialOct 24, 2026, 2:27 AM@Jgbird We live with ravens here in the northern Boreal. Ravens are smart, observant, comical and many other things. Some humans and ravens have strong attachments. You may have that relationship too given this fabulous picture.
Wombatadontjbutt58@infosec.exchangeOct 24, 2026, 2:49 AM@Jgbird I'm the same. Middle of the day is often a sh*tshow
KittenCannonSec™glitterbean@wehavecookies.socialOct 24, 2026, 2:56 AM@Jgbird The Crow is my spirit animal. They are amazing! They use tools too and adapt to any new environment creatively. They are probably better at math than I am. Maybe when I'm too drunk they can drive me home with the right command.
(Andrea) She Sings In Redshe_sings_in_red@sunny.gardenOct 24, 2026, 3:58 AM@Jgbird incredible photo! I love seeing ravens though I've never been lucky enough to photograph any.

Soror_PeregrinaSoror_Peregrina@birds.townOct 25, 2026, 1:14 AMWow, that is one limber raven! Perhaps s/he can give me some pointers about how to effectively scratch my back or put on a pair of compression socks (not at the same time 🤣 ) without cramping into a lump or knocking my nose off with my knee. 😁 🖤 :crow: 🖤
Seriously... that's an extraordinary capture.
