    @BackFromTheDud @jeffowski This is universal and it's not just about sexism. I know lots of people who have gone to the police for anything and everything, If you can't identify the criminal they say nothing can be done.

    I know of one case in which there was an identified suspect where they said "what happened to you is unpleasant, but not a crime so there's nothing we can do" (it was defamation).

    I have a friend teaching Crime Science at university who theorises that police get so cynical/ authoritarian from watching only crime and never its resolution, that they thing the justice system is entirely useless.

    @jeffowski Part of how this happens is because people use their real names, real emails, real phone numbers, real addresses, real EVERYTHING online.

    Dumb.

    Cops "investigate" by just typing your name into Google and seeing what comes up usually (not a joke). They have no idea how to track down clues and shit anymore. Deny them breadcrumbs to follow online and they're standing around with their feet in their dicks like idiots.

    The only thing they have we all don't is subpoena power.

    @jeffowski Also, it cannot be overstated enough (at least if you live in the USA) to just shut. the. fuck. up. if you are approached by police at all.

    Cops like to play word games and say "that only applies if you're under arrest" or "you're not under arrest, you're only being detained."

    Bullshit. 1.) You can refuse to cooperate at any time (and should), and 2.) there is no functional difference between detained and arrested because they won't let you leave. LOL

    @jrdepriest @jeffowski 100% true facts. Cops are delicate little flowers. Every time you don't treat one with ABSOLUTE obedience and reverence, they go home and beat their children, spouse, or S.O...or kick their dog. Then blame YOU for making them do it.
