Since it's #BlackCatDay I thought I should post a picture of one of my voids. This is Floyd, the Duke of The Void. He was having a wash at the time.

@MissConstrue My guess is that Israeli voters will choose settler-colonialism, rather than outright genocide, because colonialism lets them exploit Palestinian labour.

It’s wild to think that so many jobs have been lost to #AI, but the technology that makes that possible has not yet been paid for. It’s an entire industry that exists on money borrowed against a promise. And if that promise doesn’t hold, who does the work? The whole infrastructure of the work has been gutted. The bursting of this bubble is going to be unlike anything in history.

I’d like to invite you to vote in our Fantasy Band Poll

My cat was doing a Weird Cat Thing this morning. He jumped up onto my desk, padded over to the furthest corner, and perched there like a gargoyle. If I tried to pet him, he would turn his head back to me and give me the "Not now, I'm busy" look.

Fifteen minutes later, his task complete(?), he jumped down and left.

The political scene in Israel is painfully racist: Netanyahu urges votes by warning that Arab citizens are voting. Einsenkot won't commit to even working with Arab parties.

RT: @_ZachFoster For more than 75% of Israel's history, it has ruled over millions of Palestinians it denies the right the vote.

The equivalent would be, imagine if, since 1838, about about ~1/3rd of the population living under United States rule had been denied the right to vote because they are native Americans rather than white settlers.

Israel is a democracy the same way the US would be a democracy if we stripped the right to vote from 110 million Americans because they had the wrong DNA.

didn't they catch Nigel Farage on camera committing a crime? whatever happened to that?

Consent is about more than sex and #ai bros never accept no as an answer.

@DoubleTreble

I was accused of stealing bananas by a machine at #Morrisons today.

A human had to come and confirm that bananas were actually in the bagging area.

What the machine couldn't handle is two bunches of bananas being weighed at the same time but being put on the bagging area scale in two motions. The camera picked up two items but only one transaction.

It made me a bit angry at first but now I'm thinking; it literally weighed the bananas and then it weighs again so the right amount of weight transferred can be squared and thus reason; it took two actions to transfer the product.

I hate that I use supermarkets, but they have a monopoly. I could also make some changes, by planning ahead to mostly remove them from my life, but most people can't.

I could mess with them. Maybe some phantom moves, one banana at time etc. Only problem is, it's the poor staff that have to deal with it. They just want to do their job in peace.

Not sure the solution, but in short: fuck these machines.

Network failures obstruct community solar.

Britain’s largest community-owned solar project is struggling for survival after the local grid company stopped it from generating electricity for four months....
