I am a #musician making music in #kitchener #ontario. If you're in southern Ontario and doing art stuff, I want to know about it. I want to connect with other music types, but my interests are broad. I've done film, writing, game dev, design, and voice acting in the past. Musicians, yes. Everyone else, also yes. I want to see your work.
Boosts appreciated.

This feels relevant today. (Yes, he was a colonialist monster).

Now this is not the end.
It is not even the beginning of the end.
But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: tonight my boyfriend joined me for Critical Mass in Toronto. We ended up at city hall, Nathan Phillips Square, doing laps in the square while people danced
@ascentale @bikenite A8: this answer comes with a video, too!
#BikeNite A8: I was at the #EastbridgeLibrary, had lunch at a set of outdoor furniture with some really cool art engraved in it. I know nothing about it; should have asked a librarian...
More or less on my bike route into the city, but I took the bus this time.
And our traditional last question: your week in a photo.
Q8. What did you see this week? Reply with a photo if you'd like. Cycling related or not is fine. Tell us about it!

@ml asks:
Q7. Can you come up with a cycle rack for trains, subways, trams, buses that is adjustable so that it can be used by the most different types and sizes of cycle possible in the limited space there is in a closed transport car, yet is also accessible for as many different abilities/strengths of cycle riders as possible? What's your suggestion for how to work this?

@rand asks:
Q6. Have your methods of transportation (biking more, or biking less) changed since you moved into your current residence? Would you (or could you) have still made the move if you had known? Do you have any thoughts about an ideal place to live given how you bike?

@cainmark asks:
I saw a narrow strip of mud, and confidently avoided it and bicycled over to the side on the dry spot. Which was just a thin layer of dry, with a lot of wet mud underneath. Slid and crashed.
A much better bicyclist than me had his worst crash turning right on the white paint of a crosswalk after a rain.
Q5. Ever had a fall from a bicycle that you knew could be avoided if you'd just remembered why you shouldn't do something?

@enobacon asks:
Q4. What happens if I put a suspension fork on an uncorrected frame?
The wheelbase is 65-80in (~2m, tandem / cargo bike) with 20in wheels.
How can I predict the impact on handling, assuming I measure the steerer angle, rake and net / typical ride height difference of axle-to-crown? Suggestions/sources for alternative suspension styles, springer / elastomere in retrofit forks?

@geonz asks:
I wouldn't do it for no reason, but sometimes we have event rides. I am from the age of the boom box and ... okay, I have one of those that I should use for this situation but would need to snag a lot of D batteries, I think.
Q3. I have *not* been able to figure out a way to set up even a small speaker and music from files or CDs.... how does one do that?

@DurableAce asks:
I have long contemplated fitting a dynamo to my gravel bike for lighting, a Garmin, charging, etc. I favour the rim design, like Velogical.
My problem is that I am electrically clueless and worried about outputs, inputs and how to wire everything up.
Q2. Does anyone have dynamo advice for the clueless, or know of a suitable resource?

Our intro, and a question from @uxMark:
Q1a. Where are you posting from today?
Q1b. What, if anything, is the biggest difference between how you cycle now and how you cycled in the past (5 years ago? 10 years ago? 20 years ago?)
Conversely, what *hasn’t* changed in the intervening years?

This applies in every city in Ontario, but Toronto is on the front lines fighting Doug Ford’s divisive and destructive war on people who cycle.
I cycled in University Avenue bike lane today, as did *many* other people on bikes. That lane kept me safe.
The American CEO who bought Stelco is openly admitting that he purchased the company to sabotage it.
This is why the Liberals should have never approved Stelco's sale in the first place. When you give away ownership of a critical industry like steel, your economy is forever under another's thumb.
There is only one solution that will save these jobs and put Canada back in the driver's seat: we need to nationalize Stelco.
