Oct 10, 2026, 6:17 PMhi, bit of an odd thing for this account
my father has vaguely come across A Guy who has a supply of decommissioned retired solar panels but nowhere to offload them
how do i get him and/or The Guy in contact with some community-scale projects that can make use of them (e.g. small-scale backyard/balcony/etc systems, not a scrapper)?
location: Silicon Valley, California, USA
🔁 appreciated
edit: you can start by DMing me on fedi, or email r@arcanenibble.com

Hey @ai6yr know anyone suitable for 👆️
@datum Retooted!
@r Habitat For Humanity there will know building recyclers in that area, or web search for 'building recycler' "used building material' and maybe the 'Liberal Preppers' FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/liberalpreppers
Oct 11, 2026, 9:11 AM@r a couple years back our balcony solar club organized an upcycling event where we distributed the panels for free.
It was made much more practical by a donation of micro-inverters so that everyone went home with a functioning setup. Just some inspiration!
