While Carrie is relevant, I just want to point out that Piper Laurie (who flawlessly played the awful mother in De Palma's film) was a stone cold babe
The Hustler (1961) is an absolute classic film. Paul Newman--my favorite all time actor--crushes it, but Laurie is the moral center. Great enough movie that Scorsese felt the need to make a sequel 25 years later
