(Scott Storch is standing behind him telling him he's doing great, but not doing nearly enough cocaine)

Watching a "behind the scenes" video to learn how songs are constructed

@haskal@types.pl one of the greatest things ive ever experienced while working in a nightclub was this woman who, upon being complimented on her dress, said "thanks it has pockets" then pulled out a fucking Nintendo switch

I joke around about the concept of "shame" and my Catholic upbringing, but ultimately what I mean is that you should learn as a child not to be mean

It's like, the simplest principle in the world

Just as the meaning of the story of Sodom wasn't about gay sex, the very simple message of the New Testament is to be decent

A lot of fucked up, fun literature between these books, but I'm cool with my takeaways

In all seriousness, I'm sick of these jerkoffs trying to add their fanfic to the New Testament

You wanna go there? You wanna add the Gospel of Thomas?

Nah, you don't wanna do that because you gotta deal with a couple women as disciples

@healyn "I had a great day today. Now it's making me feel kinda bad, like did I deserve a great day?" —Catholics

(with a Forest Whitaker cameo)

These Edelson freaks need to make me a producer

What I'm saying is it's time for THE HUSTLER III: REVENGE OF THE HUSTLEE

(starring John Turturro)

@healyn Best movie ever made at the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville

While Carrie is relevant, I just want to point out that Piper Laurie (who flawlessly played the awful mother in De Palma's film) was a stone cold babe

The Hustler (1961) is an absolute classic film. Paul Newman--my favorite all time actor--crushes it, but Laurie is the moral center. Great enough movie that Scorsese felt the need to make a sequel 25 years later

the one throughline of the New Testament is Jesus fucking despises guys like JD Vance

@healyn The main benefit to me of having one Catholic and one Jewish parent was getting to explore guilt from basically every possible angle

US Catholicism is about learning shame as a child. You memorize some prayers, go through the motions, get through Communion and Confirmation, then you're free to be agnostic or atheist or whatever.

Then you go to Christmas and Easter mass because you get to listen to some good music, shake hands with some folks, and eat a disgusting bread wafer that dissolves in your mouth

white supremacist catholic convert freaks will never understand this

We understand the concept of "shame"

Fuck JD Vance

The easiest way to tell the difference between real Catholics and Catholic "converts" is simple; real Catholics are always ashamed of their bodies, no matter how much work they put in at the gym

The fact that the vice president is an antiimmigrant, pro death penalty catholic who thinks the pope is fallible will never cease to fuck my head up. Whats even the point of calling yourself catholic.

I don't know if this is a controversial opinion (I've mostly been offline the past week), but I honestly believe a live-streamed firing squad execution is going to be a huge backfire for an evil, sadistic administration

There are a lot of people who have seen what amounts to snuff videos online. But the reality is most people have not seen this! I still believe--I have to believe--that people who have seen these videos have felt a sense that they've lost at least a small piece of their soul

Hello. I’m looking for a Canadian audiobook narrator. Voice should sound masculine and 40-ish. Specific accent is Alberta. Ideally able to do other accents as well, including Northern Irish. But the key one is Alberta. And the text will be riddled with Canadianisms and Canadian place names.

Recommendations?

My feeling is that if any team other than the team I root for in any sport wins, the fans of the team that wins are amoral, and contributing to a massive gambling addiction epidemic
