    I don't know if this is a controversial opinion (I've mostly been offline the past week), but I honestly believe a live-streamed firing squad execution is going to be a huge backfire for an evil, sadistic administration

    There are a lot of people who have seen what amounts to snuff videos online. But the reality is most people have not seen this! I still believe--I have to believe--that people who have seen these videos have felt a sense that they've lost at least a small piece of their soul

    @healyn I still haven't watched the actual video of Charlie Kirk getting got, even though I'm not upset about the results, I simply don't want to see it.

    @Thomas @sexybenfranklin we are all agreeing, as people who spend more time online than the median person in the US

    There was a time when lynchings in the south were prevalent, right? Even then, it appealed to a certain demographic of the worst people

    I really feel (and truly hope) that people will view this for the desperation grab it is, and also view it as a disgusting display from people who are afraid that they will be rightfully tried for crimes against humanity

    @healyn You could make a whole list of things these chuds have done with absolute certainty they would be big hits that everyone else just regarded in horror. The chuds have been trapped inside the epistemic locker they built for themselves for so long that they’ve forgotten how to relate to normal people

    @healyn
    Honestly, the fact that we have the death penalty at all in this country should make everyone in the US feel like we've lost our humanity.

    @heathen_cat yea, I don't wanna be the guy who is like, "we've always been this"

    It's an easy pandering stance to take, right? But I almost think a livestream firing squad will make it clear how truly gross it makes you feel to see someone killed (whether they deserve it or not)

    @healyn I can't imagine wanting to watch it. I'm also a little concerned its going to pop up in places online whether people want to see it or not

    @Taweret the fact that it's government-sanctioned, combined with autoplay...disgusting

    @healyn i will say, i think part of how state violence is legitimized is because its hidden .. that is to say for them to commit violence against people so openly, it either means their an idiot or it means they think they can fight any and all resistence that could come up; so they do not need to hide it.

    @Li agreed--that's why I think this backfires. I could totally be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time!
