I don’t know what people expect him to do with the NYPD. They may be employees of the city of New York on paper, but they’re closer to an occupying barbarian army “protecting” the city, and they are in all the group texts with ICE
After saying she would never stop fighting for the American people in a concession speech only two hours after the vote tallies came in, she fucked off to Whole Foods for two years. She’s gonna run, isn’t she?

I wonder how Hizzoner is going to deal with the NYPD cops who were in the ICE group chat when this went down
The clouds are not a gimmick in AC8, they give a sense of scale to flying that was always missing
One mission starts with a sunrise amongst towering cumulonimbus clouds scored to achingly sweet strings, as you hunt down and destroy a flotilla of flying wing transports almost a kilometer wide each. It’s almost Miyazaki
But you do not want to fly through the clouds. Visibility drops to zero and you will ice up and nosedive. As you visit locations you remember from years ago, the weather is worse and more extreme
Climate change is coming for Strangereal, too
Who wore it best?
I am not surprised by this because if Sen. Duckworth were capable of mounting a meaningful counteroffensive against Republican lawlessness she would have been doing so for the past 18 months. She’s the face of Dem women combat veterans in the Senate and she had every right and opportunity to demand Hegseth’s head on a pike
I think it’s gotten big enough we can call it El Hombre now
Problem: in the days and years ahead there will be power and communications disruptions. The cellular network or even the internet may fail for days or weeks. Two way radio is a cheap and reliable way to keep the community together during these times, but how do you get people into it without being That Weirdo?
Approach: Halloween is coming! It’s the one day of the year when children are still allowed to walk in the streets after dark and talk to strangers. And even adults will commit to the bit when there is spooky shit
Make it something fun with FRS because that’s the lowest common denominator?
How do we make this happen without being, ah, creepy?
when they use CLAUDE.md instead of pyproject.toml
Wondering if the intellectual justification to fire all the QA departments came from Rails TDD the same way that the intellectual justification to fire all the DBAs came from Rails migrations
Because let me tell you, TDD out in the trenches is an XKCD-class thought terminating cliche: “I heard that to write unit tests you have to do TDD and write the tests first, and that’s too much work so I don’t write tests
The Linux world is doomed. You have been selected to carry the torch forward by installing and maintaining an untainted pre-cataclysm release. Choose the install CDs to take with you into the void:
Question for Fedi #amateurradio folks in the US:
For household use, do you think it is legal and advisable to run encrypted DMR at low power under Part 15? Is anyone doing this?
The recipe for melange, the geriatric spice:
70 mg Adderall
10 ug LSD
4 mg Wegovy
and a pinch of cinnamon
New and busted: checking the time in the dark, getting alerts, tracking your calories, and taklking to the voice assistant on your smartwatch
Old hotness: get a mechanical watch with a tritium dial and manage your weight and attention with drugs as Frank Herbert intended
STOP DOING GERMANIC LANGUAGES
Two thousand years of phonetic drift and nothing to show for it
Want to sound like a barbarian, for a laugh? We had a vernacular for that: it was called “FRENCH”
“Hello I would like to borrow a GREEK NOUN”
Looking at what has happened in Russia, the United States, the UK, and now Germany, I think the only proven memetic defense is to speak French

The only thing I got wrong with this analogy was that COBRA had a bold and well thought out sense of style. Alan Dye is no Baroness

What are the odds that Tim dropped everything to make that Samsung knockoff because Trump demanded a “folding iPhone” but that is just what he calls Natalie Harp’s rose gold MacBook Air
You know what? Fuck this take. If parents are getting wise that they were sold a bill of goods about working long hours for social mobility, college is a racket to create student debt, and meritocracy is a rich white boy lie, then maybe cancelling the standardized test prep cram school and letting the kids enjoy the weekends is the only sane move
There’s a story about how a renowned art dealer tried to get some business from Henry Ford by making him a gorgeous catalog of unique and valuable art pieces. He shows Ford all these beautiful color plates of paintings and asks if there were any he’d be interested in purchasing. Ford responds:
“Why would I need to buy any art? You already gave me this book”
I think of this when I think of Tim Cook in his office at a standing desk wearing his Vision Pro, while there are pictures in frames leaning up against the walls. Cook is happy to have virtual pictures on the augmented reality wall and doesn’t need to actually hang any of them
What a fucking Ford ass dipshit. If Steve Jobs were still alive he would grab Cook by the ear and drag him down a glass staircase
