my generation’s values: you absolutely need to know where people stand on politics; it’s rude to talk about how often you wash your sheets or towels
@jepyang if people ask me how often I wash my sheets or towels (at least if they are not using them), I will either A) stab a bitch or B) pull a Homer-disappearing-into-the-bushes 😅
@jepyang and yeah, it is bonkers to me that people were just friends with people who were segregationists or anti-miscegenation…like, how could you avoid talking about this stuff so you could stay friends with people like that?
I'm honestly so glad that more people are acknowledging that no, we can't always disagree and still be friends. Some things actually matter.
The fact that things like "maybe we shouldn't kill people" is considered some extremely far left political statement ...

@JessTheUnstill @revoluciana @jepyang yeah, like, I can be friends with people that maybe think different regulation policies are better or disagree with me on approaches to taxation, or maybe what should be under the power of the state vs. federal government (if it isn’t about suppressing civil rights), but can’t really be friends with someone who is a virulent racist, sexist, xenophobe, or queerphobe. Kinda don’t understand how someone can be.
