    How do I get speedier at casting and just being faster on the move, in the game? Other players are SO much faster than me. It's fine when I'm alone (I'm a druid) but today I joined a group and I was just the absolute turtle. Slow to cast, slow to target etc.

    I'm in my 50's so I'm tempted to say it's slower reflexes, but when I played the game 15 years ago I was not much faster. 😬 Some of this might just be that I visually process the game world slower, and that's fine, I don't feel bad about that. My own enjoyment is the priority. But I do feel like I could improve if I had tips.

    What are basic, obvious-to-you things that you do to make things faster? I'm using keybindings but I still butterfinger my keys a lot. Movement keys are mapped to arrows on the keyboard, but that does mean that my right hand is there instead of on the mouse? (Did this because I play on a laptop a lot) Is using the mouse a lot faster?

    @Lironah @t54r4n1 16 BUTTONS! 😱

    I did get a better and faster new mouse after I read all these comments, but it only has a couple extra buttons! :) I knew I couldn't manage 16.

    @hollie @t54r4n1 It's the only thing that lets me play anymore, since repeated clicking and holding down buttons gives me muscle strain. Mostly it just frees up keys on my keyboard for things I need to be able to hit quickly. Probably only 5 I use frequently, and then like, fishing and crafting and stuff for the rest.

    @Lironah @t54r4n1 It's great that it makes the game more accessible! When I played years ago, I got a fancy mouse with many buttons and I just kept forgetting where they were mapped, which led to some hard feelings in raids lol.

    I should just play mage, that's the class least likely to explode a group when I start button smashing, but instead I'm choosing druid/boomkin. Which will mean I'm the caster with the lowest dps. :)

    @hollie I’m also in my 50s (but not for long, gulp) and I have similar issues. I think I’m doing fine when I’m playing on my own, but as soon as I get in a group, everyone seems to be moving at three times my speed, and I’m always playing catch up.

    I play on a laptop, but I know that if I ever want to do end-game content, I’ll have to get used to using a mouse. I’ll have to buy a mouse, firstly!

    @hollie I think the main advantage of using a mouse is that you can turn much quicker, like 180° basically instantly, which takes a second or two if you’re “keyboard turning”. I presume all the movement is done with the mouse, and everything else is keybinds, so you don’t have to click anything.

    @hollie do you mean attack & casting speed? If so, maybe stacking haste would help. As a mage, I definitely cast spells faster when I’ve stacked haste.

    @hollie I won't take a shaman into dungeons at all, because people are just straight up sprinting and the casts take so long. Druid is easier because I play Feral, but I only ever feeling like I can keep up properly on my rogue.

    It's not you; it's them.

    @hollie keyboard and mouse setup aside, the green stats from gears may also help. Haste can help with casting faster and Speed can help with movement speed. It is good to stack Haste until it feels good to cast. It is not recommended to stack Speed, which is a tertiary stat and may be too difficult to collect/stack for the effect to be noticeable.
